Keenum is showing promise, but there have been so many cases of QBs playing very well for part of a season, then drop off. We are likely to have a very high pick so we have plenty of very talented QBs available when our turn comes.

This team has so many holes.

We'll see what we have in Keenum.

I don't know how you pass on the talent in this draft though and trade down.

    These are franchise qbs

We need LB insurance. Who knows, maybe we'll pick up another defensive monster like JJ.

Yes, it's the safest thing to do. Half a season is not long enough to evaluate Keenum.

O-line failed Keenum on many occasions today. Thats the first thing we need to fix.

The truth is, I dont know!

Keemun has shown some skills no doubt, but I still think we should draft a QB, maybe not 1st maybe 2nd or 3rdish

But honestly I would have no problem doing either, Riding with Case or drafting a top talent! Just as long as we open up the playbook, and not the one from 2007 *coughs* Kubiak *coughs*

    Yes you draft a quarterback!

But knowing the Texans they will draft a Right tackle in one of the deepest quarterback drafts ever!

this draft is too deep at QB imo to not pick up one

    Bridgewater
    Mariota
    Johnny Football
    Boyd
    Mettenburger
    Murray
    Petty
    McCarron

All these guys have franchise QB potential, there are just too many good ones coming out to not pick one, but I do believe the conservative Texans will not pick one up

I always feel the QB is the last position you fill. I'd rather draft O line, D line, linebacker, and secondary.

We don't know what the next regime will do, but I'm guessing that anyone interviewing for Kubiak's job is going to try and sell McNair that Keenum is good enough to win a SB with.

And though Bridgewater and Mariota will be off the board, Clowney could be there with the third pick.

Drafting a QB is rarely the safe thing to do.

If the right guy is available when we pick, then yes, definitely, pick him. But I'm against picking a QB in the first simply because we made up our mind ahead of time that we should. You need to hit on your 1st round pick. And if the "next best QB available" isn't someone you're 100% positive can be a franchise player, you should pass on them for someone that is. There are enough QBs in this draft that you can get one in the 2nd or 3rd if you have some doubts about them.

If McNair needs that kind of reassurance, then he's part of the problem.

I can kind of understand him wanting coaches to say that about Carr since he was a #1 pick and the the first pick in franchise history, but there's really nothing invested in Keenum. Maybe Keenum CAN be the guy, but believing that shouldn't be a prerequisite for getting the job and it that shouldn't keep us from drafting another QB.

nothing else matters until you have an elite QB, and Keenum we just don't know yet if he can be that

Texans can't afford not to draft a QB

I still believe we need to draft a QB in the draft. While Case may have the IT factor, he still has shown that when under pressure he is still not able to make the smart throws.

Those deep shots that went out of bounds were inexcusable, they were so far out of bounds, there was no way the receiver could have gotten it regardless of the D.

People often talk about Brees or Wilson as short QB who succeed but that doesnt mean there isnt a HUGE advantage for QB's who are 6' 3 and taller. They are able to see over the defense and which may help their throws when 6'4 Rushers are coming at them.

We still need to be addressing QB in this draft. And no better time than now to go full tank mode.

(This is dependent on how Case does for the rest of the season. If he can develop better decision making under rush pressure and late game pressure, we can certainly not address QB in the first 2 rounds. And possible wait for 3 or later.)

    "Keenum good enough"

Yeah, and Schaub was "good enough" too.

    Good enough?

    Good enough for what?

This team needs a qb more than anything else. You win with qbs. The only other than a qb is a new coaching staff. If I were yall, I'd do anything I could to try to get tony dungy.

    Sounds like another Schaub situation.

Okay, we got you a good set of RBs, a great WR, good TEs, solid offensive line, a great defense, just don't screw it up!
