If we win tonight, we goto 6 games above to warriors in the 9th hole with only 5 games remaining. That means we clinch if we can beat the clips right?
There is no way we can be 3rd with NOH and SA being ahead of us. It doesn't matter what record LAL has.
division winners are locked into getting one of the top 4 seeds, so we can't go above the pacific division leader because we're 3rd in our division.
haven't we already clinched since gsw lost this afternoon? kep in mind gsw and denver meet one more time this week.
More important than the mathermatical clinching: We tie last season's wins despite a coaching change, major additions/subtractions, and huge injury problems. 52 wins.
The Rockets clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight because it would then leave them six games up on the 9th place Warriors with five to play.
If we clinch tonight, do we sit Mcgrady out til the playoffs? Rest Battier and Scola too. give Woods, Novak, Brooks more minutes. Giving more minutes to non rotational players might lead to finding another weapon for the playoffs. If not completely sit out, then at least limit the minutes DRASTICALLY. No more than 20 minutes a game
THIS I might go along with. I cringe every time I see somebody mention "resting" their star players. More often than not, the "rest" seems to turn to "rust" come playoff time.
Man in the west, it doesn't matter. It's a tough matchup regardless. But I think the Rockets can compete against any of them. They've got hustle, a superstar, and great defense.
It's going to be a tough slog through the West, but I'd much rather be in the top half of the bracket with the Jazz, Hornets, and Nuggets than in the bottom half with the Spurs, Mavs, Lakers, and Suns.
We will make it no doubt.........I cant wait till the playoffs and commenting and enjoying it will yall............Its been a good fun unhealthy run.........Time for crunch time
