houston trades: Hakeem Olajuwon $16,700,000 to minnesota
houston trades: Steve Francis $3,246,960 to minnesota
    TOTAL: $19,946,960
minnesota trades: Kevin Garnett $19,607,350 to houston
    TOTAL: $19,607,350

    TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to houston and minnesota being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. houston and minnesota had to be within 15% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    PG- Moochie, Cat
    SG- SA, Cat
    SF- Walt, Bullard
PF- Kevin Garnett, MO T, KT
    C- Cato, Collier

Minnesota gets a superstar + cap room when Hakeem retires, and Houston gets a better superstar to compliment the other young guys.

Bob, that doesn't sound like too bad an idea. Minnesota could start over with a bona fide star that won't cost a lot for a 3 more seasons. They can try to rebuild through free agency and then max Steve out.

On our side, we'd have a very legitimate forward to build the team around and still have a pretty good backcourt with Mobley, Anderson and Norris. We'd no longer be a team weighted to one end or the other -- we'd having scoring from the front and back courts. Plus, we'd finally have a forward who can rebound!

Except we now would have Cuttino complaining because his right arm has been cut off, no backup PG, lose Shandon as we would have no money for him or MoTay (not that we will be able to keep him anyway) next year.

Of course you wouldn't, because it is impossible to trade Steve for "noone".

I think most of you are WAY overating STeve Francis. Minnosota would never do that trade.Lets think logically here, why would Minnosota need Steve Francis when they already have terrel Brandon and william avery?I think this would be a much more logical trade for both teams-

Minnosota gets- Cuttino Mobley, Hakeem Olajawan, 3 future first round picks due by 2007,rights to the Bulls conditional pick (bryce drew trade), and future considerations.

    Houston gets: Kevin Garnett.

Now that would be more even of a trade.HOuston doesn't have to give up there 2001 picks 1st rd picks necesarily. They get KG, a sick power forward who is probably the 2nd best player in the league behind Shaq.Mo Taylor is capable of pl

    PG- Francis,Moochie
    SG- SA,Walt Williams
    SF-Kevin Garnett,Bullard
    PF-Mo Taylor,Kenny Thomas
    C- Cato,Collier,C.Rogers

The wolves get a SG to help out there backcourt, along with serious caproom next year after dream retires to pick up maybe Cwebb or Dikembe Mutumbo. And, they get lots of picks in return to take the place of the ones they lost in the Joe Smith incident.

    PG-brandon, avery
    sg-mobley,chauncey billups
    sf-wally,andrae patterson
    pf- nesterovic, hammonds
    c-dream,garrett

How about Dream to Chicago for Fizer and draft picks? Or, New York for Spree, Camby and anyone with a year left on their contract? Then Webber can come here to play with Spree again. We might get a better pick from the Bucks, if he can help a team in the East.

I don't see his role increasing much. If he can't be happy here, then trade him.

Why the heck would the Knicks give up Camby AND SPREWELL for Olajuwon???

Why would the Knicks want Olajuwon right now anyway? Camby is a much better center than Olajuwon these days... And center isn't even Camby's natual position...

If the Knicks can get Mutombo for Spree and Camby, then they can get much more than Olajuwon...

We'd have to offer Olajuwon and at least Mo Taylor...

I dont really see Spree and Mobley coexisting well together.

How about Dream and and one of Shanderosn or Motay to Knicks
    Camby, Rice, Longley to Rockets

I know, how about Steve, Cuttino, Shandon, Walt, Taylor, Cato, Thomas and Dream for Jerome Williams. This team needs a banger.
We could throw in some draft picks as well.

    ------------------
If I make this shot, the Rockets will win tonight. If I miss, they might still win, but I doubt it.
If I make two in a row, Florida's votes will actually count.

realgm also accepted Olajuwan and mo-tay for Garrnett,...now that's sounds like a trade if ya ask me. i'd even throw in a draft pick for next year to sweeten the deal if the tenderpups would really do it. and of coarse if Olajuwan really, really wanted out. if he doesn't then no...i want him to stay.

    I don't think we'll get ALL WORLD PLAY #3
    for anyone on this team.
NO TEAM is about to trade their Franchises
NOT EVEN US [I ain't talking about Dream]

Honestly I think Dream Trades are best
    Suited for Eastern Teams.
    1. Because he can only burn us twice
    2. Less Comp for him and more chance for Champ.

    Therefore I Say these teams:
ORLANDO - Doleac, Amichi, and 2 1st Rounders
Miami - Grant, Mason and 1st Rounder
    Charlotte - Cambell/Mash and 1st Rounder
Hawk - 3 1st Rounders [Don't want Motombo or anything else]
    No championship potential
new Jersey - Van horn and 2 1st rounders

Look East and see what we want . .that is what I say

    Lets see,

KG is quite possible the best basketball player in the NBA, and WILL be one of the best for the next ten years.

Minnesota will NEVER trade KG unless he absolutely demands it. Why would Minnesota want to start rebuilding with a new superstar? With Garnett, all they need to do is add one more marquee player the right combination of role players to be real championship contenders.

WRONG DAVO!! Minnesota is going to either trade KG, or watch their franchise go down the tubes. No first round draft picks + no cap room = LOSING LONG TERM.
