Just wondering. The D looks more intense, and they seem more aware of the importance of passing. Maybe it's the fact that the nationally televised games tend to be at home against good teams. But I wonder whether this is what happens when players prone to laziness and selfishness decide they'd better be on their best behavior.

think 37 Mavs points killed the rockets defense

but hell we are not the first to spank by one quarter of Mavs offense

Rockets suck right now. They aren't jelling as a team. No chemistry. Even if 82 games were on ESPN, makes no damn difference.

Note to self: Next time, wait until game is over before asking why we're playing so well.

Overall, you are right. The Rox play better on nationally TV games.

But, this time they thought they won it in the 2nd quarter...before the fat lady sung.

I think that is a sign of youthfulness and inexperience, but I agree with that notion. You would have thought they won the NBA championship after they beat the Lakers, as excited as they were. It was a huge game, and very exciting, but a veteran team would have chilled out and been more up for the difficult games following that one.

Yao again played better on nationally televised game though.

This add to his increasing trend of playing well in games that is nationally televised, this includes both Lakers games, both Mavs games, Pacer game, Orlando game etc etc.

someone must have told our players in halftime break that EPSN was not going to televise the 2nd half.

Yao plays better in national games because those are the only games he gets any shots. Like the Bulls announcer said, he is unstopable, but we don't give him the ball.

Don't feel bad, Will. They left their brains in the locker room when they went out for the second half. It may as well have been two different teams. The first half was the "national TV - we're playing like we're supposed to" team. The second half was the "the way we play most of the other games" team.

    Arrgh.

    Deckard,

That's odd, the whole thread seems to be against the rest of the BBS that says the Rox sucked from the get go.

and I was sitting there enjoying the 1st half execution and then b****ing about Dallas and all those 3s in the 3rd.

Didn't realize we actually sucked the whole time. Ya know, the BBS post-game, concensus is never wrong.

oh well. Learn sumping new every day, right Smeggy?

Yeah, there is nothing wrong with getting beat by 23 at home, I mean the team is just better, why even be competitive, the team is just better, hell, I don't even know why they show up, they should just forfeit games when the team is just better, when a player outscores your team for one quarter, I mean, hell the team is just better. That is a good excuse.
