If this team stay's healthy I think will finish second behind SanAntonio, and we just might pull a 5ceed in the Western Confrence Playoff ceeding. With another year under their belt together Stevie and the Cat should be killer, in fact with all the offensive weapons we have scoring should'nt be a problem at all. The problem last year was defence and rebounding,If Cato becomes a thug on the boards and Eddie get's more time on the floor to shot block we should rectify this problem. Hopefully all of this comes to pass. Stevie 23 pts cat 21pts MoT 16pts Cato 9pts Boki 9pts off the bench Edddi 12 pts kenny 10 pts Ming 11 pts
"IF Cato becomes a thug on the boards" The Rox have about as good a chance of winning the lottery as they do Cato being a thug on the boards...8.9%... Oh wait, they did win the lottery. Ok, I guess it is possible.
i surely believe that a healthy team will make the playoffs. I really dont care what seed i just want them to make it.
My gut tells me "yes." Simply too much talent. Griffin is also primed to make a tremendous improvement. Best case scenario: 50 wins, sixth seed. Worst case scenario: 40-42 wins, no playoffs.
We are ready to compete for the Western conference Championship. We may not have the experience to get through it, but we have the talent.
If our guard don't hang on the ball too much. We will be at least coming to the playoff with 5 seed!! Rockets 52 Win!
I agree with you Kalikuli about our guards a hanging on to the ball to much, but Rudy T needs to stand up be a man and chesttise them this could only make them better players.
I think the Rockets will make the playoffs. I think Seattle will fall and/or Utah. But a lot of it depends on if Ming and Nachbar can adjust to the Rockets offense; if Mo T comes back strong; if Rice can regain his shooting touch, and if Griffin finally learns that its not a felony to shoot inside the 3-point line. But, I think the Rockets are in.
I think it all depends on STEVE FRANCIS. Since he will be fully healthy this year I really want to see if Steve Francis is the real deal and can lead this team. I want to see if Francis can lead a team to the playoffs? I want to see if Francis is worth the Max? I want to see if Steve Francis deserves to be called Stevie "Franchise"? So many questions....... I want answers now! I want to see what my current favorite player is made of.
Hey we might pull a new jersey and go to the nba finals?Na at the best i think we would go to the semi's of west finals. I know we are goning to make the playoffs. We will be led by the best player in the nba EDDIE GRIFFIN!!!!!!!LOL. jk . Na he's not.....yet. But we will make the playoffs. I have confidence in our team. Don't every underestimate the heart of a champion, cause we got one...Except Cato. .Na i got confidence in you too man, go wreck on the boys.
02/03 Make the playoffs 03/ 04 Western Conference Finals 04/05 NBA Finals Best starting FIVE............ Francis Mobley Nachbar Griffin Ming
A couple things have to happen: 1. We have to attempt to run an actual offense. 2. Just try on the defensive end. 3. Steve can't have the headaches. 4. Eddie has to continue his development. 5. How well will Nachbar fit in by the end of the season? There are all the extras like how Ming, MoTaylor, Mobley, and Moochie will play, but the 5 I listed are the most important factors for our playoff future IMO.
Think about it. I know you know this, but in the '00, '01 season we were at 45 wins and almost had a playoff birth. Of course we had Olajuwon and Shandon Anderson, and .....did we have Matt Bullard?? Anyways, how much did Hakeem really have to do with the success (if you want to call it that) that season (other than his pressence, experience, and leadership)? Basically, it was the same team as last season's, without the injuries. I remember all of the analysts putting us as the 4th to 6th Western playoff seed last preseason, but, again, the Rox got hit with the injury bug. They surely would have gotten over the hump if it weren't for that Before I start rambling, let me get to MY point! We have as much, and MORE talent on this team as we did in the 2000 - 2001 season (45 wins, almost made playoffs). The sky is truely the limit, now. If the 2000 team could almost get to the playoffs, there is no doubt that with the talent we have now, we will make it there now. True, that team had a declining Hakeem, Anderson, and Bullard. Our team now has an emerging Eddie Griffin, hopefully a rejuvinated Rice, Ming and Nachbar, two super-talents that will develop and help us along. And our, then, young plyers such as Francis, Mobes, Cato, Taylor, and KT are now seasoned veterans, with the maturity and leadership to go the distance. Stevie know this is his team and he knows he's a superstar player that is one of the top talents / pg's/ scoring threats in the NBA (something he didn't possess in our almost-playoff season) . One final point that makes our present team better than the near-playoff team in 2000-2001 is the confidence level. Think about this. We really can't get any worse than we were last season (knock on wood - NO INJURIES, PLEASE!!!). The Rockets were basically brand new then and hadn't tapped into their potential as of yet. I think this young team will finally come together and realize that with the talent and experience they have, they can begin competing w/ any team and win against most, if not all of them. So yes, I do believe the Rockets are a playoff team. With all of this in mind, of course, and barring an injury-plagued and poor-shooting season such as last, the Rox will finally overcome the playoffless drought this season and for many to come!
1.Dream started to be on a tear late in the season (avg. like 16 ppg or somethin like that) 2.Walt Williams was literally on fire for most of that late season push 3.Most of our wins (like 30 i think? might be wrong though) were against Eastern teams that weren't even on par w/ Eastern teams now 4.We had fewer bodies on the IL We have as much, and MORE talent on this team as we did in the 2000 - 2001 season (45 wins, almost made playoffs). The sky is truely the limit, now. ... Stevie know this is his team and he knows he's a superstar player that is one of the top talents / pg's/ scoring threats in the NBA (something he didn't possess in our almost-playoff season) . talent only get you into the playoffs. leadership, experience and maturity gets you farther. we had a 50/50 veteran/young team that 2000-2001 season. last year was full of young players and injured players. I hope that Steve knows that this is his team which means he should know that he will have to carry this team on his shoulders as well. I think this young team will finally come together and realize that with the talent and experience they have, they can begin competing w/ any team and win against most, if not all of them. i, too, hope that this team will get to the playoffs, but confidence level is high? it's been mostly confidence individually...not teamwise. hopefully it'll all roll into a nice package by october. So yes, I do believe the Rockets are a playoff team. With all of this in mind, of course, and barring an injury-plagued and poor-shooting season such as last, the Rox will finally overcome the playoffless drought this season and for many to come! i hope so too. but getting past lakers mavs kings blazers spurs jazz wolves clips will be a hard but it'll be fun to watch.
He was the main reason for our winning streak midway through the season. In the beginning of hte season, he was upset over the way Rudy was using him and was averaging 8 or 9 points per game. However, Rudy began using him more and he was averaging around 16 and 11 I believe throughout the rest of the season. He got injured over the last few weeks which I think was the reason for us not making the playoffs.
