Tonights win makes 4 in a row. It would be 5 in a row, but for Cat blowing some FT's and Francis missing a buzzer beater last year. (not sure about 01-02 record)

But anyway, what strikes me about the last 2 or 3 times the Rox have beaten these guys is that it has been done ugly. By that I mean that the Rockets have not had particularly good games.

Take tonight. Not really good outside shooting by anybody, atrocious performances from the FT line, Yao scored 21 but wasn't an especially dominant force and made a few bonehead plays, as did cat, steve and the rest, we got blocked a bunch of times and couldn't draw a lot of fouls going to the basket till the end, but still we come away with a victory, taking the lead early in the 4th and not giving it back.

I'm sort of puzzled as to why we keep winning. Marbury brings his A-game against us, and Stoudemire is always motivated to matchup with Yao, but Marion seems to turn the "Suck" switch on. Every time he plays us, he starts jacking up shots like Vernon Maxwell. And not the good vernon, either.

There's no real matchup or anything that the Rox exploit, is it just that Frank Johnson is a crappy coach? Or luck? or what? How does Houston keep beating these dudes w/o bringing their A-game?

That's a great team when you win the game seems bad game.

Go rox. But Yao is a long way to be a very good Center. Don't tell me something D or not. He is only a good center like the one in Cav.

honestly, i don't know. i mean marion did take it to a new level today, shooting 3 airballs in no time, each one seemingly worse than the one before it, and they shot horrible as a team, but we damn near did nothing right except not turn it over and still came out with the W. i guess it helps that their centers never ever score on yao (jahidi couldn't even attempt to get a shot off) and them being a donut team helps a lot, but still, we played moochie for like 10 minutes. that's gotta even things out. so maybe we do just have their number.

now if they could teach us how to hang with the spurs, that'd be great.

You're right SamFisher, Rockets just find a way to beat them, though the Rockets did have their A-game one game last year. The game we won at America West Arena last year the Rocks just pounded the crap out of Phoenix and Rice had 20 something points. Aside from that the Rockets beat the Suns and the Rockets aren't at their best. It's funny, I remember we were getting into it with a Suns fan in the Dish forum when we said the Rocks would be a good team once we get good coaching, and the Suns fans said that they had more talent then us and that having a new coach won't make a difference. Well the Suns are 2 games under .500 and the Rockets are in first place in the Midwest Division. Coaching can make a WORLD of difference.!

I thought the Suns were better than us last year...

But we got lucky that one time Marbury was going crazy but Cato bumped into his shoulder and he had to leave. :p

Other times...one time we whooped them badly.

I'm glad we beat them! They are our rivals!

Thank God they don't have Bo Outlaw anymore. :)

    The Suns are pricks...

I remember there were several instances last year where the Suns would send out Randy Brown to try and **** with Steve and try to get in a fight with him, so that their third string guard and our all-star starting point guard would get ejected.

    Sneaky bastards

The final game against the Suns in Phoenix last season was a great game. One of the few instances when the Rockets played as well as we all knew they COULD. Starbury and crew didn't have a chance.

We were all so sure after that game that the 8 seed was ours. Then... something happened. If was as if that game in Phoenix was all Houston had left in the tank. Man, that was sickening.

Nice to beat those punks one more time, though.

:D Yeah, we all know how Cavs's big Z changes the way games have been played in Cleveland, especially seeing the "evidence" from last season. Hehe...Dude, you're just eating more crow as you keep putting up your drivels:D

Well, the Suns are the worst team in WC. There isn't really anything to brag about. But a win is a win and we will gladly take it. :)

Actually, you can't blame the Suns. The Rockets destroyed themselves as a team. With 17 games left in the regular season, Rudy T got diagnosed with bladder cancer. Mentally it was a tremendous strike on the Rockets, last season's 2nd youngest team in the league. Then there was this so-called Mr. Mean (Larry Smith) got appointed as Rudy T's replacement. The guy had no coaching leadership & sucked big time to a point even Stevie got into confrontation with him of his game plans. The Rockets then played like the Cleveland Cavs, losing games after games.

You should not hate the Mavs coz they know how to give the Rockets butt-kicking.
