If you think about it.. Arguably, the top offensive teams in the league are Dallas and Kings.

Both of these teams have a lof of international players that play major minutes

    Nowitski/Nash

    Vlade, Peja, Turk

I think the internationals play more of a team oriented style (passing, cutting, outside shooting). If so, maybe we can find a few more to add to our team. Next year, Yao will be the man and hopefully Boki will develop into a consistant contributor.

Kings also have Webber, Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie, etc. They were winning without Peja.

Mavs also have Michael Finley, and Steve Nash went to college in the US, so it's not as if he was an import like Dirk was.

Canadians do not count as international players. Steve Kerr's more international than him. :p

Not having an American passport doesn't mean you play hoops fundamentally well and having American passport doesn't mean you play the game without the fundamentals. It all boils down to coaching. Can this group of Rockets play like they did last night? I hope so. Rudy has to get through to them on a consitent basis or the team needs a new coach. It's really that simple.

    Great game last night!

But international play is quite different. Those guys grew up learning how to cut, pass and shoot fts etc. Our style of ball is more flashy and triggered around one on one play.

My point is that I dont think it is of coincidence that some of the better offensive teams in the league have more international players. Perhaps the Rox can follow this pattern and build our team around some more foreign imports like the Mavs or the Kings.

Well..I don't care where our players are from. But international players seem to succeed after a few years.

Anyways...about the Kings. Imagine if the Rockets were like them.

The Kings have Mike Bibby. When he is injured...they have Bobby Jackson, who could be a starter and replaces Bibby perfectly! When they are both injured, they still have Jim Jackson! And he is capable of scoring double digits easily! Then they have Damon Jones from Houston! He can also play well.
They have Doug Christie, who pretty much plays all games. He is a good defender and can kinda score.
At the forwards, they have PEJA STOJAKOVIC AND CHRIS WEBBER. They are the best! But when they are injured, they still have so many good forwards! Then they have Vlade Divac AND Keon Clark, who both are very valuable.
Even when the Kings do not have 3 of their top 8 players, they still win.

I hope the Rockets win tomorrow. It won't be easy...even though no Webber and Bobby Jackson and Scot Pollard.

I don't know, but I know I am happier when I have an international girlfriend so maybe it would work. New Zealand, Columbia, Cuba, soo good....
