Haha. What a creepy old slime bag. Bigger news here though is that Tillerson has shifted dramatically in our foreign policy towards Assad & Syria- I don't think people realize how big of new that really is. It would be like going back to the 90's and saying that after we go fight this war in Iraq its up to the Iraqis if Saddam stays in power.... as if they really think they have a choice on the matter. On the other hand though, taking out Assad likely mean leaving a vacuum that could lead to more terrorist groups emerging in Syria. However leaving in power a dictator who hangs hundreds of his own citizens and bombs his own people with Putin's help will also continue to lead to opposition and continued lack of democracy in the middle east. Seems like when Trump says that "We shouldn't have gone into Iraq" what he's really saying is he thinks the middle east is better off with brutal dictators ruling with an iron fist, fear, and murder.
18 yr AP beat reporter for the State, Matt Lee, calls out what everyone knows. All this shitty journalism not helping anything....
Or... what would Putie want us to say about Syria, do you think? Oh gee, exactly what Tillerson now says.
Everything I've read about tillerson makes this seem impossible to believe. Too many people speak too highly of the man as a person to believe something so pathetic
I think I agree, but a whole lot of successful, talented, brilliant people have seriously bizarre personality quirks.
Turns out that it's not fake news because the Post never claimed it to be true: That's from the post article in the twitter link - the Post never claimed it to be true. It only said that is what career diplomats at the state department have been saying and then later calls them paranoid stories that often turn out to be untrue.
Regardless of whether this is false, Tillerson has been a major letdown. The guy publicly admitted that he didn't even want to be the SoS and that his wife made him do it. I personally prefer that our chief diplomat actually want the job. Also, the whole stunt where he invited one right wing "journalist" onto his plane was pretty absurd. Tillerson just sounds like a cranky old man that isn't quite sure what he's doing.
The one journalist that he let onto his plane was the one who reported this. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/mar/22/rex-tillerson-i-didnt-want-this-job
