It's just going to increase the chance of him bricking it. Even when he makes it during a chant, it never goes in clean.

    Please, just stop.

This season, his chance of bricking or not making it cleanly is very high regardless.

got to admit, the place followed your lead when it was started

btw, to compare how Dallas fans are in their arena, just imagine the reaction when Luther Dunked in the Toyota Center, is the same reaction you'd get at Dallas when someone makes A SHOT! Its really hands down night and day difference between our fans and theirs, but like Nice Rollin said after the game, where were the fans when they were losing 50 a season? Where I and alot of people on here were cheering during the Francis years :)

Don't listen to the thread maker, keep chanting MVP when T-Mac goes to the line

He needs to learn to get used to making those free throws with that chant going on now.. because that similiar chant is going to occur for years to come.

yup. dallas fans just came out one day....i remember going to a game when i was a kid against the mavs. hakeem had the game winning shot with .4 left. back then there wasnt a dallas fan in the summit. you'd probably have to go to dallas to find a fan......even then its probably hard. i dont know much about dallas history but when you ask a dallas fan about fat lever or even rolondo blackman (i think his jersey is retired in dallas).......they'll be like "who???"

when you ask a good rockets. good meaning not even hardcore with a clutchfans account....we can name our players from the 90's like tim breaux. sam mack and tracy moore...dallas fans just showed up one day. it makes me sick.

and you're right dave. when dallas makes a shot, they go freakin crazy like its the most amazing thing ever. luther made dirk look silly on that baseline dunk...thats when we go crazy

Yes, please those guys that were chanting are idiots. You are supposed to keep quiet when players shoot free throws. They are supposed to keep their mind clear. Morons.

Its like telling a pitcher right before the bottom of the ninth that he is about to throw a no hitter if he can finish this next inning up. You just dont do that. Players are supposed to keep their minds clear in these situations.

its really not as great as you think it is... i was at the rockets game in dallas earlier this year (t-mac 29 points in the first half)
but anyway... they have the same problem of people in the lower bowl coming in late to the start of the game and after halftime, the fans werent that loud during the player introductions, and for the most part the arena wasnt that loud except for when devean george started playing out of his mind and toward the end of the game.
one of the main things that is different is that the pa sounds are alot louder than at toyota center. things like the music, rim microphone, pa announcer volume are way pumped up at the GayA Center.
haha on a side note, i went to the game in my rockets retro shirt and gave my friend my red "Mavs Hater" shirt to wear to the game but some of the fans started booing us on the way out. so i just had to yell out and remind them of how many championships they have and how many we have. haha that got a huge reaction and EVERYONE started yelling at us and a few people even started throwing stuff. but hey, i was proud to rep the rockets

man mavs fans are stupid. trust me. you can tell them we had michael jordan and won 6 championships and believe it.

ok maybe not that stupid but u can tell them that our organization has 5 rings to their 0 and they will surely believe that

actually i do know a few mavs fans who were there in the days when they had the likes of chris anstey, eric montross and khalid reeves. even in the three j's days and before that. There are some legit mavs fans out there.
    But
They aint got it like we do,

if it came down to a mavs and spurs WCF i would have to go with the mavs to get to the finals as my hatred for the spurs CANNOT be topped by the mavs, it would take 3 rings by the mavs to top that.

How did this thread turn into a Mavs fans suck thread? Anyways... You should be able to yell whatever. T-Mac is supposed to hit those. He choked. College kids can hit FTs at Cameron Stadium, call audibles at the Swamp, etc... According to most pros the only factor in shooting FTs is the pressure. Obviously T-Mac didn't handle it well tonight.

that was embarrasing when the game started and there was practically no one in the lower bowl. it could have been the early start but it looks like that on tv pretty much every single game. get in your f#$king seats people.

and since that was kind of off-topic, i don't think it makes one difference in t-macs percentage if you yell mvp or not. so i'm all for it.

I'm sorry, but you have plenty of better opportunities to chant MVP than when a rocket is focusing at the free throw line. Like a timeout or after he makes a great play/dunk/whatever.

Pick a better time or don't do it at all. Why do you think the rowdies bang those thundersticks on opponents freethrows? It throws off the concentration of the foul shooter. Yelling MVP as he is shooting it does the same thing to t-mac.

And ziggy, OPPOSING fans yell chants during free throws to throw off foul shooters to help their team. Having the HOME fans chant when one of their own is shooting is hurting that player and the team. Real smart.

Keep saying it. McGrady has been bricking free throws all year; there's no way his home crowd chanting, "MVP!" is making it worse. Plus it's really cool to hear when you're stuck watching the game at home, especially if the game is on national TV.
