count towards the 82 regular season games? I know the group games do. But playoff opponents aren’t determined until the group games have been played. You can’t schedule those games in advance. I’m assuming those are extra games we have to play? Pardon my ignorance.
Only the very Final game does not count, it counts as 83rd Game......(voluntary game with prize money and trophy) So the Semis count, the Quarterfinals also do count.
Thanks. Good to know. But then how are the quarter/semi final games scheduled? For example, we will play GSW in the quarterfinals. Is that game in the original 82 game schedule? If so, how do they know before the season started?
And if they do count, they will affect the standings too, right? That’s kind of unfair because playoff teams are all better teams. The chance of losing the game is higher. Granted it’s at most 2 to 3 games. But in the end even 1 more loss may matter a lot.
As I understand it, and people can correct me anytime, is that they conclude that for instance HOU plays GSW, OKC plays DAL...... Then they take out a later scheduled HOU-GSW, OKC-DAL........and replace it with the Cup game......
