So my neighborhood is pretty quiet. A break in happened the other day where they knocked on the door, no one answered, then kicked the door in 15 minutes later and ended up holding the family at knife point before the father got out the back to get help which made the alarm chirp which sent the **** faces running. I have a security system with the decals and sign up. I have visibel window locks on every window. I have a dog and a beware of dog signs (dog is crated at night). Curtains are never really open. We leave nothing visible in the cars. You get the idea... I do my best to not be a target. Anyhow, do you all think having security cameras outside of a home acts as a real deterrent? I have benn thinking of having one at the front and back door and then around the perimeter of the house. They are relativity inexpensive nowadays and come with a DVR. Just wanted your thought BBS brothers
I know my girlfriends parents have cameras all over their house and inside, I am not sure if it because of the cameras or just the fact that burglars have not come to that area. www.crimereports.com Type you street adress and it gives you all of the information on all the crime activity in your area.
Interesting. Not one crime of any type within 10 blocks in any direction where I live since Aug. 1st. (furthest you could go back.)
That's funny. I typed in my address and I got back a: "No crimes reported in your area. We'll send some criminals your way shortly."
Wow that's terrible. One of the perks of living in an apartment is the safety of a concierge and needing a key card/password to use the elevators. I'd post a 'will shoot' sign, and buy a good handgun. I use the following for home defense in the US: S&W 686 Beretta 92fs
