do you have any clue how many law suits this law will bring up esp when it comes down to race? I cant wait to see all the law suits minorities will come up with saying that they are picked on

I think it's a way to rid themselves from law suits, by placing in a "random" in there. Damn the system, is must be crushed!

This is what you get after years of GOP judges.

I haven't heard of any such law, and the article that you linked certainly doesn't state that. The DPS is asking the Attorney General for permission, and he hasn't granted it.

and they can't constitutionally allow random searches without probable cause or at least reasonable suspicion?

Um, this has to be the most misleading title inthe history of D&D, and that is saying something. Could you quote me where there is a "new law that allows cops to stop random drivers" that is mentioned anywhere in the article?

Yeah, not a great title. But, there is a lot of competition for Most Misleading in the D&D.

Anyway, what weslinder said. And, if they decide to do it in the end, no, I won't be happy about it.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Church. Nothing new to me. I've been stopped many times just because the officer felt like it. Run my license, nothing. Then the excuses or something stupid like writing a $200 ticket for the license plate bulb (20 cents) being out (which of course I went to court over and won).

And some people around here have the nerve to complain about the country becoming socialist....

When I was 16-18 I was pulled over 7 times and did not get one ticket. They were all total BS.

I got the light bulb stop in Kerrville a few years back. I'm driving my 10 mo old daughter home and he suspects me for drugs. after finding nothing, he tells me he never wants to see me around there anymore then follows me until I'm out of city limits and on way back to San Antone.

The title of this thread might as well be:

Do Any Of You Support The New Law That Allows Cops To Shoot You Without Warning?

No way in hell anything like this is constitutional. Strongly doubt anything like this happens.
