Wow... when did the democratic party become republicans and when did republicans become democrats? How times have changed since the 1930's.

It's a shame what my beloved Democratic Party has become.

All the people that died Democrats are turning in their graves at this current era of Democrats.

Wake me up when this mess is over.

Wait! I thought you were a moderate who wanted to choose whichever candidate helped your business. A day later you're a long time democrat who is disgusted with what your democratic party has become? Hmmmmm....

I suspect his family turned against the Dems when LBJ signed the Civil rights Act.

I was born into a Democrat family. I have been a democrat all my life(Catholic-Irish/French).

Just because someone who is running for President because they are a Democrat doesn't mean I'll vote them just because I am a Democrat. Just like republicans in red states voted for Bill Clinton in 1992.

so freaking tired of people saying the government is inherently evil. of course too much of it is a bad thing. but the bad people that take advantage of things like super pacs, and growing corruption of the lobbyist system of the last twenty years is what is evil.

Never said you had to vote democrat, it just seems strange you were undecided a day ago, and today you're utterly disgusted. Quite a leap, no?

Actually no, I didn't make this thread because I'll be voting for Romney or Obama. The party as a whole is what is starting to change, and accepting a attitude that we belong to the government, well that is just a shame.

Democrats of all people should know this much, and to put out a video that says this very thing at the DNC... barf

Do you disagree that our system is a government of the people and by the people? If not, why would it be odd or wrong to say that government is something we all belong to?

The little people who espouse this have been fed a line of bs by the super wealthy who send them their media. Fox of course. However, mainstream media like the ABC Nightly News that I watch nightly subtly trashes government all the time in a way that they don't do for the failings of big business.

It is pretty simple. If you are a rich person without a sense of patriotism your only worry economically if you don't speculate too much is taxes and inflation.

You deal with inflation by having unemployment unnecessarily high to depress wages. You deal with taxes by convincing little folks to vote againt taxation for anything including public universities, health clinics and other services not needed by the wealthy.

People who use this line of reasoning are the dangerous types that abuse the power of the state and then tell you that it's for your own good.

Do you disagree that the government is of and by the people? We aren't part of the government, in your opinion?

Major they can't shake the "gubment is da debil" mindset to even answer the question. To agree with the idea of government being of and by the people leads to SOCIALISM and would go against all they stand for.

If they're Jessie Helms / Strom Thurmond-type "old school" Democrats, they can turn and turn into the center of the earth for all I care.

What Democratic policies are you harkening to? Removes the ambiguity on what you think it was what it was what you thought it was.

The formulation is ass backwards. It suggests that the government is not by the people, of the people, and for the people, but that the people are for the government, by the government, and of the government. No doubt that is in line with how most DNC delegates think.

    It is a tool
Funny . . .people will claim GUNS are not dangerous
but IMO the Gov is the same. .they are both tools
one just has a more complex purposes and uses
one has more opportunity for abuse over a large impact

    Both should be used properly

But the reality is . . . both are used to rob people
