So, had a work meeting with a trusted colleague, trying to help students find jobs basically. He's a good egg, and about an hour in to our meeting, we're about to end it and he says, "have I ever told you my mom's Trump story?"

    "Um, no."

So, he tells me this story that he first heard in 1984 when he was but a high school student. "I was reading 'Art of the Deal' and thinking it was really cool, but my Mom told me that the author was not a good man. Then she shared her story." Here it is.
    ---------------
It's circa 1968. A woman (my colleague's mother) is a youth is Queens, and she's set up on a blind date. Here comes her blind date, in an MG convertible. He's dashing and handsome. (Yes, I too threw up a little bit at that point.)

As this young man, Donald J. Trump, is driving his blind date to dinner, he says, "You wanna see something funny?"

    She says, "Sure!"

Then he guns the motor, because a pregnant woman, holding a toddler in one hand and a sack of groceries in the other, is in a crosswalk. He aims right at her and then slams on the brakes, screeching to a halt just a couple of feet from the terrified pregnant woman.

Once they get to the restaurant, the narrator of this story gets out of the convertible, walks straight to a pay phone, and calls a taxi for a ride home. Her interactions with DJT are complete.

She tells her son this story so that he'll put down 'Art of the Deal' and know that the guy is an *******.
    ----------------

I can't personally vouch for the story, but the mom is from Queens and this seems too detailed and specific to be made up. DJT would have been about 22 at the time. I think it's legit, but I say that as someone who trusts this work friend. I can't believe he'd never told me this story before now.

When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.

Was the mother using the crosswalk a poor?

You know, this isn’t a bad Trump story really. I was certain he was going to rape her or try to impress her by evicting black people.

It’s not like Trump actually hit the pregnant woman or deported her ... the more I think about it, the more I think this is a positive story for Donald... hell she even said he was attractive.

Yes, a high point, one could say. A brief and youthful burst of goodwill toward others.

I actually tried to read Art of the Deal early on in the Trump Presidency to try to understand him and his appeal. The figure described in your post fits the man in Art of the Deal.

Being raised rich without parental guidance is recipe for a sociopath. Too out of touch.
