    Thanks

The best software program for divx encoded movies is Nimo Codec pack. Has the codecs you need to play anything. Plus there is a new codec out called "xvid" which is basically divx backwards. Have seen some vids with that coded (wont say which one :) ) and the quality is unbelieveable.

BTW, SmeggySmeg, you are now officially a 'software pirate' under the DCMA for helping people to overcome digitaly based copyright protections. If you ever set foot in the US, you are now subject to a $1 Million fine and 10 years in prison. God knows if they'll help Adobe prosicute some guy wh helps blind people to read they'll sure as hell come after your @ss! :p

    hold on...

Is this the same divx that was in the first DVD players where you had to pay to watch a movie one time?

Yes and no. Divx was that bad idea Circuit City had to rival rental stores but failed miserably. Then some people made up a codec like WAV to MP3 but MPEG to AVI with a special codec called "divx" which they did name it after that Circuit City's crap.

I've got broadband, but now I can't think of downloading anything.

    No, really.

I don't know what to download.

And sometimes (half the time) I try to get avi, divx, or whatever movies, they don't work.

I have Nostra, but it doesn't seem to wanna play movies half the time.

Well, off to get Godfather now...
