    Spring break's opening week may have been chilly, but these Kansas students checked out Galveston anyway. Joe Assey, Bret Toews and Bryan Hoag got each other wet in the surf today. The trio, on Hutchinson Community College's livestock judging team, were taking a break from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

    I've never understood why anyone on spring break would stop in Galveston. I'd keep driving until I got to South Padre Island.
