Planning on going on a trip to Disney world in a couple of months with my wife. Trying to see if there are any good deals out there. The tickets are pretty expensive now, they run around $80 before taxes for a one day ticket. Planning on going to 2 disney parks only, so only need 2 tickets for 2 adults. Preferably Magic Kingdom & Hollywood Studios (formerly known as MGM Studios)

Any ideas on places where I can get it cheaper than $80/day?

no_answer, where are you, ms. Disney? :p

Got this in the mail earlier:
 I don't think you can get "free" tickets or lower-priced tickets unless you're staying in their resorts. They will want you to eat, sleep, and play at their place in order to get some major discounts. This will actually work out better for you. Try to call your travel agent to see if this is applicable. I do not recommend only going to 2 parks, though, because you won't save too much money. Might as well see the entire entertainment complex once you're there or you'll regret you didn't.

EDIT: how silly of me, you don't have kids... and said it was only you and your wife but, meh, I think this is good for other people, too.

Got tickets through these folks in 2007... http://www.mapleleaftickets.com/

Not sure about a 2 day deal... usually the best daily rates don't kick in until about a 5 day ticket...

Right now, you may try going with a deal to stay on site through the Disney website itself.

Also, try going to Cali instead... sure there's not Epcot or DHS, but the parks are limited only to out of staters or non-Annual pass holders during July.. and they have cheaper tickets, and technically more rides than attractions.

Tons more info at wdwmagic.com boards... ;)

Well, when I went we stayed at a Disney hotel our package included hotel+food+park tickets+flight. It was a good deal. I would go on Disney's vacation planning site and look up the prices for all of that.

    Also, I would goto Epcot.

Start saving your monies for next Dec so you can come with us. :D

A little while ago they were running a promo where you purchase 4 days and they give you 3 days free for a Magic Your Way ticket package (tickets plus hotel). We used this for a weeks stay in a moderate-level resort on-site along with a dining plan to save even more. I think all things considered it worked out to be a good deal, considering it's Disney (read overpriced) to begin with.

    Go to saveonresorts . com

I actually just went to Orlando last week. We were there for 4 days/3 nights at Calypso Cay in a one bedroom condo. They make you go to a "90 minute" presentation, which turned out to be 2 1/2 hours about timeshares. However, it was very smooth and we didn't have any obligations. This presentation actually saved us about $350. We paid $449 + taxes for 2 people, so it was only $225 per adult and it came with 2 adult magic your way tickets, 2 universal studios tickets, and free shuttle to the theme parks. Great deal if you ask me.

Also, I'd go to Epcot for sure. We were there for about 9 hours and still didn't get to see everything. It was great.

I'm glad to see people recommending Epcot. It seemed pretty boring when I was a kid, but I'll be going back this Saturday. Looking around the internet, everyone has only had good things to say.

And from what I've seen, I doubt you can get a deal for a short stay.

I'm taking the family out to Disney World week after Thanksgiving (Slowest week of the year) and planning on buying through Craigslist. I've been seeing many great deals on there and was wondering if anybody has tried that? You can buy two 1 day passes for the price of one.

You'd have to talk to Mrs. SwoLy about that, no_answer; I can't convince her to have a family vacation... actually, there are no "monies" right now. :(
I am guessing you have kids that don't go to school or, if they DO go to school, you "don't care" that they miss school? :D

We typically go in October....I have one who is 9 and one who is 4. I have no problem pulling them out of school for a week to go to DisneyWorld.
