Animal control officers said they were following leads Tuesday but had no suspects in Sunday night's attacks, during which one person told police they heard a puppy yelp. An older dog, a 41/2-month-old black Labrador mix, suffered burns on her muzzle and hindquarters from apparently being used as a moving target for fireworks. The Tulsa Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was caring for the injured dog and for the puppies' mother, a 11/2-year-old black-and-tan heeler mix that was not harmed. The injured dog had begun to eat and was expected to survive, said Laurie Myers, executive director of the Tulsa SPCA. The SPCA believes the puppies died from fireworks that exploded in their mouths. A woman, Tonya Curry, 27, found all the dogs Monday among the remains of fireworks inside a vacant house and took the two survivors to the SPCA. When an animal control officer arrived later, the dead puppies were gone. "Somebody probably went to clean up their mess so they wouldn't get in trouble," Officer Charity Curtis said. The SPCA has raised about $1,000 and other organizations were undertaking similar efforts to reward people who provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible, officials said.
I won't be as cruel, but I would like to make them dance with the fireworks thrown at their feet to teach them a lesson.
I would rather not have read this. I might shoot/kill the people regardless of age if I saw this happening live. They have no compassion...why should they get any? Even kids should know better.
I don't believe that animals have rights, by any means. But I am firmly against hurting them or mistreating them for no reason. Never understood how people could hurt an innocent animal like a dog or cat.
God, that is horrid. The really sick thing is that if they can do that to a dog.....what makes you think these little predators wouldn't have a problem with doing it to a person? That is really scary.
Isn't this a contradiction? Someone explain if they think it is NOT. A. They have no rights. B. They cannot be mistreated. I don't get it.

This story pisses me off more because I own a Heeler. Sweetest friggin' dog I've ever owned, plus she has a huge brain. Very smart. String these bastards up!
I believe there was an empirical study that linked animal abuse by children to criminal activity as an adult.
A. is a legal issue. B. is a moral issue. There is no law against lying to your significant other, but you can still believe it to be wrong.
I believe it was more than just criminal activity. They found that serial killers had a long history of animal abuse, and that those who torture animals are more likely to become serial killers.
I think Animal Abuse, Firesetting, and bedwetting are the hallmarks of serial killers. Certainly someone can't help bedwetting...but the other two are signs to watch.
