ClutchCity.net Game Thread: Suns @ Kings 3/13/2003 TNT, 9:00. No Rockets till tomorrow, so we can all pretend we're Kings fans for the night. Kings are 11-2 since the break, Suns 4-9.
Sacramento (45-19) at Phoenix (33-30), 10 p.m. ET (TNT) Kings Journey to Desert to Face the Suns PHOENIX, March 13 (Ticker) -- The red-hot Sacramento Kings try to extend their winning streak to five games on Thursday when they visit America West Arena to face the struggling Phoenix Suns. The Kings have won nine of their last 10 games after losing seven of 11 games from Jan. 24-Feb. 16. They had a five-game winning streak snapped in San Antonio on March 1 before winning their last four. Sacramento extended its home winning streak to seven games with a 107-88 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. Bobby Jackson scored 17 points and Chris Webber collected 16 points, 12 rebounds and six assists for the Kings, who remained three games of the second-place Portland Trail Blazers in the Pacific Division. Sacramento is 3½ games behind league-leading Dallas for the best record in the Western Conference. Phoenix has just four wins in its last 13 games and was handed a 113-98 loss at Golden State on Tuesday. Rookie Amare Stoudemire had 24 points and eight rebounds and Shawn Marion added 17 and 14 for the Suns, who lost for the seventh time in 10 games. Phoenix's struggles have dropped it into a tie with the Houston Rockets for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Sacramento has won eight of the last 11 meetings with Phoenix, including two of three contests this season. The Suns posted a 110-101 victory over the Kings at America West Arena on Dec. 21.
This is a must lose! Marbury will go 3/16 and Stoudamire is gonna get abused by Cweb. Kings 102 Suns 94
PHOENIX, March 13 - The Phoenix Suns today activated center Jake Tsakalidis and placed guard Randy Brown on the injured list with a left calf strain. Tsakalidis will be in uniform for tonight’s home contest against Pacific Division leader Sacramento.
Moved to NBA Forum and changed title from "Clutchcity.net Game Thread..." to the current one. The CC.net Game Thread is for Rockets games.
Don't really understand why this was moved to the NBA forum. The game and this thread relates heavily to the Rockets. If a Suns-Warriors recap can be put on the Rockets section, why can't this be? Putting it here means less people will see this thread because not everyone goes to the NBA Dish.
Moving this thread was weak... This is about 100 times more meaningful than a majority of the other thread's on the Game Action & Roster Moves thread. Would have been a fun tradition for the last 20 or so games left in the season but noooooooooooooooooooooo...
Man, you guys are alright. That's what I was thinking when I posted it (the importance, the running joke for the next 20 games). Maybe I'll start another thread titled "They shouldn't have moved that Suns/Kings thread out of the Rockets forum."
you do that... but this just apply it to the Rockets more by adding some random fact........ Bring up why on earth did the Rockets get rid of Dan Langhi or somethin' stupid like that and it can't be moved
Unlike rooting for the Rockets, you don't need a strong heart (or a spare TV) to rooting for the Kings.
Dammit! The Kings chose a really crappy time to go cold! Gimme a break. They're getting really open shots, and they're just not hitting them. Jeez!
