Ok, I just have one question: Who keeps giving these people money to make 'movies'? Maybe a better question is, who keeps spending money to actually SEE these things? http://www.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/disastermovie/trailer1b/
Remember back when spoof movies were great? Like Airplane, Naked Gun, Hot Shots? God, I miss those days.
It is has Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Minnillo, AND Carmen Electra? I smell and Oscar nomination... Seriously, the thing that irks me the most about these movies is that the idea of spoofing date movies, disaster movies, epic movies, etc. is a good one. It's just so poorly executed. They're painfully unfunny, and boring to boot.
they're even spoofing HSM heh i give them credit for something, they're spoofing moves that came out like what, in the past 2-3 months, I heard they started shooting in May for a August realease, sad really....
Based on that poster, shouldn't it be called Superhero Movie? The only thing disaster about it is the one twister in the background. Can't even get the marketing right. Spoofing a generic disaster movie could actually be funny...see Airplane...but in the hands of these guys forget it.
Even the trailers are getting worse. As far as why these movies keep getting made, never underestimate the power of the redneck dollar.
But they already made Superhero Movie. This should just be called Generic Spoof on Films That Came Out In 2007 or The First Half of 2008 Movie.
Presumably they thought another movie called "Superhero Movie" so soon would confuse people. Different "they". I do like your title better.
Really? You mean there are two groups putting out crappy spoof movies? I just kind of assumed that all these _________ Movie films were done by the same people.
This is why I usually shy away from Hollywood distributed films and watch foreign films, because they take films seriously.. Well, except Japan, Europe, and mostly Asian films...
I wonder if someone could parody these parody movies...really expose how utterly stupid they are. Or maybe someone could come up with a spoof that is actually intelligent (for a parody). I miss the genre.
This movie totally reminds me of Idiocracy: "And the number one movie in the country was called Ass. And that's all it was for 90 minutes. [farting noise] It won eight Oscars that year, including best screenplay."
