Sorry to start a new thread over the HD mess, but I wanted to let all DirecTv users know that FSN Houston is now in HD on channel 639-1. Just go into your favorites and add it to your list. Since Rox mgt said all home games will be broadcast in HD (thanks Clutch), I'm glad that DirecTv got their stuff together and added this HD channel before the season starts. Enjoy.
I have a question... How come when I looked ahead to Thursday and Saturday's games on my on-screen programming guide, it said FSNHD is off the air during the Rockets game? I thought all Rockets games were in HD this season, or is that just home games? At least the home games... What the F? (this is on Comcast, by the way)
I notice that on comcast this happens all the time for FSNHD. I think whoever originally posted said it was home games only though, because it depends on the arena as to whether they are set up for HD broadcast or not. They didn't have any of the preseason games in HD. Hopefully that changes for the regular season games. At least Tuesday's game is on TNT in HD
I think FSSWHD changes daily. when I view the info within the webguide (you can set your dvr to record through the internet with uverse), I have it listed as offline tonight, and no data available on saturday. so hopefully by the time saturday rolls around it'll show up... *crosses fingers*
Many times, Comast will list FSNHD as off-air when in fact FSNHD will be showing a game (I don't know why, but it happened w/ Time Warner too). You should always check the channel at game time yourself to be sure.
Are 639 and 639-1 different channels? I know Rockets games currently come on channel 639. I'm wondering if that'll be the same channel the HD games will show up on?
I would be interested in knowing if anyone in DFW will be able to get the games on this channel(or any Rox games) w/o league pass. I just want to justify my league pass purchase considering I may have been able to get games for free. Doubtful since I am not in Houston.
They are essentially the same channel. 639 is the standard 480p transmission and 639-1 is the same channel just in 1080i. That is nice for when the HD feed is having growing pains (happening quite a bit with the other new HD channels), you can always flip to the standard version.
what about dish network in terms of HD rockets games? any issue with them since I am planning to switch to them soon
