I have seen another Direct TV thread in here but can't seem to find it. (No search) We are moving to a new apartment and part of the deal is that for $89 you can get Direct TV (with one receiver) and T1 internet plus for $4.99 a month you can get a second receiver. (Truthfully, I don't know if there are any alternatives besides the DTV with this apartment complex.) I have used Time Warner and Roadrunner up until now and had no problems. Anything I need to know before I agree to this setup?
the apartments have T1 builtin? or are they claiming T1 speeds with the directTV internet service(satellite based)...has to be the former.. I have had problems in the past with Direct...but lots of people around here claim that it isnt a problem any more....of course...ymmv. I wonder what kind of speeds there is when half the complex is online at the same time?...probably similar to cable...T1 is 1.5MBps...and residential cable is advertised at 2MBps... as long as they arent charging you out the wazoo for the internet access...sounds like a decent deal... only thing I would be wondering is if there is a longterm contract you have to sign with Direct?
Contract, just the same as the lease. No extra cost other than the 89.00 a month for the Direct TV and internet and one receiver, 4.99 a month for an extra receiver. Cool I just wanted to make sure there were no horror stories. Thanks!
