Every year, my family drives to Southern California for a two week vacation.

In the past, we've stayed overnight in Lordsburg, NM, which is a really dumpy little town.

This year, we're going to try staying in Willcox, AZ, which seem to be only slightly better.

The hotel can provide a breakfast buffet for us, but...

Does anyone here know of a decent place for a family of four to eat dinner along I-10 in southeast Arizona?

    Mexican? ;)

Why not just drive the extra hour to Tuscon? This place seems solid.

I believe Tucson is where you'll encounter the first in-n-out along I-10.

Tuscon is too far West. We have to eat dinner long before Tuscon.

No, it's gotta be in SE Arizona or SW New Mexico.

    Any ideas?

I'm all for trying local mom and pop type restaurants. Not, however, within close proximity to I-10 in the middle of nowhere.

I'd stick with McDonalds on this one. Or this place.

Though it's been said, I'll say it again.

    Hope you're not brown looking.

SE Arizona?!?!?! C'mon, now. THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE... queen of the boom towns... mining town...

Longhorn Restaurant. We ate there in 2006. Home cooking. TOMBSTONE.

    Very cosmopolitan.

Yup, but much too far west. It would be 11 pm before we got there.

I'm thinking maybe dinner in Deming, NM. Not sure, though.

Why not? I hear their chimchanga's are to DIE for.

    [see what I did there?]

I'm sure a local hitchhiker would be glad to buy them for you in exchange for a quick ride to NM.

[again, see what I did there? That was another one.]

Houston to Tucson is a piece of cake. 16 hours tops.

You leave at 5 in the morning you'll get there by 8:30 PM local time.
