what's good? i'll be in tomorrow night, staying at the Hilton on E. 4th. looking for something medium high-end, decent wine list? steaks an option, but not mandatory. bbq and margaritas are another idea. we're out early the next morning so probably won't be a late night.
wink is a fun place to eat. trulucks is pretty close to where you are and some bars to stop by for a bit everywhere next to it to. i would say its more med then med/highend though.
I like this place here: http://www.lambertsaustin.com/new/ I've heard good things about this place: http://www.winkrestaurant.com/the_restaurant.html and this place: http://ztejas.com/z-tejas-6-street.html
Truluck's has good seafood, including dungeness crabs last time I was there. Good alcohol selection, too. I'm down for tacos if you are, basso. Or burgers. Beer budget, my man.
Perry's steakhouse Gumbos Eddie V's on 5th Flemings Sullivans Are all in your area, and pretty danged good. Heck man, how long are you in town? Feel like meeting up at some point? DD
La Condesa is med-high end Mexican (interior) cuisine and it's downtown. http://www.lacondesaaustin.com/ Garrido's is fanciful Mex-influenced fare. http://www.garridosaustin.com/
im pretty sure joe dimaggios closed. there are too many restaurants in the domain, they are going to struggle for a while in my opinion.
feel like it? definitely. not sure how my time will work out. i get in late afternoon, and have a colleague arriving a bit later, so might be time for a an early drink? my flight out is late on thursday, so there may be a window in the afternoon, but that schedule is TBD. send me you mobile via the board and i'll call/text when things firm up? tin- you around as well?
I can not do tonight but if we are talking about tomorrow, then yeah, maybe...gotta check my schedule. DD
Austin Land and Cattle (not to be confused with the chain Texas Land and Cattle). Ate there Saturday night and it was darn good!
