Dillon Brooks stunk it up today for Team Canada...we need to trade him while he still have some good value.
If Tari have a breakout season, Dillon will be gone

Tbh he wasn't the only one. Considering some of the players Canada have they looked trash.

Brooks has the same shot selection IQ as Westbrook. Spoiler: it's very low

Brooks is very streaky. But Jamal Murray was worse today and all tournament.

I used to want to have Murray on my team. Now my view of him is getting lower and lower. He is extremely streaky and inconsistent. Denver wouldn't have lost to Minny if he was better in the series.

I need some advice to be directed to a good memory Doctor because I keep remembering Dillon being really liked the early part of last season. Some folks were even seeing him as a real positive to the team and thought his offense was above expectation.

If any of you know someone who can help me get this strait, please contact me.

He is too much of a chaotic player, his shots do not look in rhythm in most situations.

Westbrook is not capable of shooting, otherwise he would make a better shooter but that is fantasy and not reality.

Dillon shot like 50% from 3 to start the season and was at +40 most of the season. Eventually he came back down to earth and reverted to his Memphis form.

I used B-Ref on/off court numbers. But if you're going to make the point to write out his offensive rating for the past two years, not sure why you would not bother with the two years before? Seems kind of odd you'd just not bother to put up his good numbers but whatever. I don't think any numbers you posted would contradict my original point that Brooks does not tank his team's offense. And if you wrote out his numbers in 2021 and 2022, it would make it abundantly clear that he's a role player who is much more impactful in a smaller role next to a star like Ja Morant. And he suffers when he needs to take on a bigger role last year in Memphis, and this year with the Rockets. It's as you say, the Rockets are 20th in offense, they kinda suck. That's not a Dillon Brooks issue, it's a "there's no actual star(s) to keep Brooks from shooting too much" issue.

I’m fine with Brooks and paying him 20 mil. I do prefer he come off the bench. If he does start, I want his minute dropping to about 20 a game with a better shot selection.

I have serious doubts Jamal Murray will return to previous form. His best years may be behind him. Nuggets just maxed him out.

Brooks is the enforcer right now. Let's let him do the work that needs to be done and protect the higher skill guys. Maybe Tari will take over soon but he needs to learn to be more of NBA bully role IMHO.

tldr; who cares he had a bad game we won't need him for scoring once the team is actually ready to compete

Nah never reverted to his Memphis form he just got an abdominal injury and played hurt the rest of the season and even then he ended the year with 36% from 3 on 5 attempts which is his best shooting season.

What we are seeing with Brooks is he is excellent to start the season and then starts to lose his shooting touch as he gets tired. This will bode well for the upcoming season as he will share mins with Tari, Cam and Amen.

Brooks have been a tremendous addition to the locker room. He brought elite defense, elevated the team spirit and his dance moves are the bonus. He has been the 20 m guy we were hoping for. His shot selections are not that bad often, his 3p shot is still pretty consistent. However it is time for him to move to the bench and blend with the second unit.
