Dillion has an irrational confidence in himself and he is willing to go toe to toe with superstars, similar to mad max.

The guy has a will to win that is unbelievable.

Well so does Patrick Beverley and we've seen how that goes.

Jazz will steamroll them when Mitchell is back.

Defensively he's great but offensively he's a total mess. When a guy has 30 pt games every other week but averages 17 there's something going on when the highlights aren't paying attention. He takes waaaaay too many bad shots which are okay when they're going in but crippling when they're not. Even just this year his PER is 12 and VORP is -1.0. He's totally one of those "great if you're not paying attention" guys. I legit want to see a "passes per game" Stat cause in game 1 he must've passed less than 10 times.

Edit: found it. He passed 16 times TOTAL. That includes inbounds passes and passes just to move the ball around. For reference, JVal had 54 and Ja had 40. Brooks took 26 shots and passed 16 times.

*maybe* he'll be one of those guys who over-performs in the playoffs when he has the chance. Not suggesting comparing him to people like Horry after a couple games, but it'll be fun to watch... or painful to watch if he reverts to 40% FG. LOL

"Dillion" makes me think of the DQ Dilly Bar for some reason or maybe a new numeric measure.

"Amazon made like a dillion dollars last year."

Nah he's the guy who overperforms every 3 games then underperforms then over then under then over then under. Which would be ok but he's taking the same amount of bad shots on both the on and off nights. Westbrookian is one way to describe it.

He reminds me of Stephen Jackson... Horrible shot selection but makes them from time to time... He can have SJax career , I think that's a good ceiling and floor for him

That's kinda low for a starter though... If he puts together a couple 18+ ppg seasons, he may hit "paydirt"... Unfortunately it'll be from bottom teams but hope he continues to grow... I like him a lil..

The grizzlies don't do that anymore.
Zach Klienman makes players take discounts.

So, you agree with @what ? Because in many ways you just described Mad Max.

btw: does anyone else like typing @ what ? Try dictating that to Siri or Alexa. She”d reply, “@ who?” Starting an abbott and Costello bit lulz

I'm not a fan. I see him being way to selfish out there and his talent doesn't warrant him being that selfish. He is fine with this team right now, but the act will get old unless he becomes more efficient.

He was pretty efficient this game and that is all that matters.
But I look at being selfish way different than you. First, Dillon isn't a ball dominant point guard that hogs the ball, such as Harden or Kyrie was.
Also, if a player lags on defense and doesn't care about it: selfish. If a player makes it all about himself as Kyrie does, that is selfish.

You could make an argument that Dillon is the hardest worker on the team. The 15 shots he takes on offense are by far made up for for his breakneck style defense.

They also used to call Zach Randolph a black hole. Well you say that in a Memphis hood now, you better be prepared to meet your maker, lol.
Like I said, I love Dillons game and since I am a grizzlies fan and you are not, we can both be happy it appears.

But I am not going to argue whether a player is efficient enough, that is ludicrous. Didn't lJordan take like 900 game winning shots and only made a third of them.
Taking hard shots vs taking gimmes are two different things and two different mindsets.
Which is to say Dillon is a far better offensive player than Rudy Gobert despite efficiency.

You know what, you're kinda right but Mad Max at least never had the level of audacity that Brooks has. Max's career high FGA was 15.2 which is less than Brooks this season. And while I knew that Max would take a garbage jumper with no hope of going in every now and then, I at least know that there's a small possibility that he won't shoot the ball after touching it unlike Brooks. It's the level of blackholeness that really sets Brooks apart.
