Okay, here's the situation: I recently won some Jazz tickets for tonight which are located right behind the bench of the Jazz players. But the guy who is giving them away received an offer from a client and is willing to give me TWO sets of a pair of tickets, one for the Bobcats on Friday, and one for the Hornets on the 14th (Wednesday). So basically 4 tickets in all, valued at $1360 (Same seats as the Jazz game ~~ behind opponent's bench). I'm not sure if I can make either game, so I'd have the opportunity to make money if I were to sell them. I go to A&M, so convenience is obviously an issue, and due to the fact that I'm a college student, I'm always short on cash. Basically my questions to you guys are.. How marketable would a pair of tickets be for the hornets game ~ valued at $720 (behind the hornets bench)? And what would be the best way to sell them?
Do you think people would bite for let's say.. $720 tickets priced at 400-500? Considering that it's only the Hornets..
Not hard to make the drive, it's a quick one from CS. I did it back when the Stros were in the playoffs to make it to my first playoff game in my life. And right back up to CS in time for a few beers at Northgate with friends...
Oh I know, I was just curious. Trying to get a feel for exactly what choices he's dealing with here. If I were going to have to drive to Houston and back, I'd probably take the other games and sell the tickets. If I were already in town...I'd probably go to the game since I've never sat that close before.
So far you've put $0 into this whole thing, so anything you get will be a profit. The question is, how much total (for BOTH pairs of tickets) would you have to take in for it to be worth missing tonight's game? That's really what it boils down to.
You make a valid point. But I considered the fact that the Jazz are rollin' right now... Imagine how It would feel to go to the Jazz game and watch us get blown out. I would expect the game to be very competitive and I have a lot of faith in Houston, but we don't have a whole lot of bodies.
If I had tickets right behind the Jazz bench for tonight's game I would skip class to go if I had to.
You mean you've got an opportunity to spit and shout obscenities at the Jazzholes all night, and you're willing to trade that for the shot at a few bucks? AND YOU CALL YOURSELF A ROCKETS FAN??????
You'll make money, you'll at the very least make 100 each, I'm sure a ticket broker would buy it for at least that amount
You'll make some cash but don't expect too much considering the Rockets record and the time of the year, very doubtful you'd get anyway even close to face value.
You should sell it back to the ticket broker who gave you the tickets for $50 apiece. WIN.WIN.WIN.WIN
