There are implants which are purely aesthetic, and then there's the Digital Tattoo Interface concept. It's a blood-powered electronic interface which is embedded under skin to mimic a tattoo, display videos, or act as a phone or computer.

As great as it seems, this concept is seriously creepy because it powers itself by converting the glucose and oxygen found in blood into electricity. Though somehow getting your blood sucked by a gadget is worth it for the endless potential applications. I'd probably just end up using it to moderate comments, but what would you do first with your implant? [Core77 via Geekologie]

This week, Gizmodo is exploring the enhanced human future in a segment we call This Cyborg Life. It's about what happens when we treat our body less as a sacred object and more as what it is: Nature's ultimate machine.

I want an iphone built into an inductively charged cochlear implant to boot.

And glow in the dark nipples.

I would never get a normal tattoo.

I would get one of these without second though. Especially if you could embed a touch sensitivity feature like in the photo. You could embed a pop-up cell phone key pad or QWERTY keyboard and some sort of bluetooth/wireless internet and run all sorts of functions. Maybe wire something directly in the hippocampus memory pathways so I can "remember" facts and figures from the internet and Wikipedia as I need them.

I wanna be my own wifi hot spot. That's bound to attract women.

I'd let them sit next to me as long as they want. Maybe I could also find a way to convert my piss to latte and charge $4 a cup (whipped cream topping no extra charge).

Where would you put this QWERTY keyboard so that it would be convenient to use?

Its seems like all the "futuristic" stuff you used to see in Sci-Fi movies, and movies about the future is coming true....crazy stuff.

That was my thoughts. Scary stuff.
I wonder how long before whatever is converting the gluclode to energy
will be advertised as some kind of weightloss thing.
