With Christmas Eve and New Year's approaching, I've decided to play my entire library of music at our family parties. I have done this before with WinAmp, and it's worked out fine, but I am not satisfied with how the music has come out in the mix or played. :(

I have decided to research and use one of these Digital Mixer Type programs. One of the programs people have mentioned on YouTube and on other places where I ask is VirtualDJ, and it seems that this is the top-of-the-line program to do this sort of task.

I don't have turn-tables or a good "system" to play the music, but I thought that if I was to take my surround-sound system with the appropriate cables, I could get away with a DJ-like sound.

I wanted to know if any of you have come across this and other programs, if there are any DJ'ing programs out there you've used, if they're free, etc., and if you like them.
