Im looking for a digital camera that is 5.0 megapixels or more. Its hard finding one. Is there a site I can get some info on digital cameras? Or do you guys know where I can get one locally around town?
I second that.....it's my favorite website/forum for digital photography. They have excellent user reviews and ratings on all of the latest cameras. Don't put too much stock in the number of pixels. Make sure it has a good rating for picture quality--which is as much a function of lens and CCD quality as it is the number of pixels. you can learn a TON at dpreview.......there are some very knowledgeable people who post in their forums.
Those links were awesome, thanks guys! Okay, I have found a digital camera (Sony CyberShot DSC-P150) that I like and was wondering if there is a place around town besides Best Buy and Circuit City, that I can go and purchase from?
this site looks pretty good.....do you know of one that has reviews for digital video cameras as well?
I always check out www.nextag.com before I purchase camera equipment. At that point, I end up buying on the Internet though--because the prices are always better.
http://www.bwayphoto.com/product.asp?item=sndscp150&l=Streetprices $429.99, about $70 cheaper than CircuitCity
for future reference, www.streetprices.com is an electronics price research site ..thats where i found that at
I have the Canon EOS Digital Rebel and I love it. It is pretty hands-on, works with Canon's changeable zoom lens system, comes with really decent software and takes awesome shots.
Also, If you're nervous about buying from an online company and want to find out more about them, check out ResellerRatings.com -- droxford

Ok, for you camera geeks out there - What is the best digital camera for $300 - $400 Looking for: Olympus, Nikon, or Canon Want lcd and optical viewfinder Want at least 5 megapixel Lens aperture less than f/2.0 Either 3-5 optical zoom or something larger w/a stablizied zoom Not AA battery Want some manual controls --in addition to automatic program modes (and preset exposure modes (landscape, portrati, etc.)), would like some manual modes too. Like aperture and shutter mode. Don't want shutter lag. Thoughts? THANKS.
That's a lot of $$$ for on 3x optical zoom. What is anyone going to do w/ 7.2 megapixels? Get some more optical zoom and a little less mp's IMHO.
