I bought my wife a Sony P-7 camera on e-Bay this week. Being used , it did not come with the Pixela Imagemaker software CD. I'm not sure how much I need this software and one review I read said there were better programs out there. So, I am looking for suggestions on what software I should get and how much I should spend. Could I find one to err.. borrow on morpheus? She will just be a recreational user that will store pics on her hard drive and e-mail them to friends. Thanks.
You can generally find capable programs running the gamut from $10.00 (e.g. some versions of Broderbund Print Shop, or Printmaster gold) to programs like Paint Shop Pro which run around $80.00. I am assuming you can currently transfer your photos from your camera to your computer. If not see if Sony has anything downloadable from their site.
Well I guess this is an e-Bay lesson. First the camera came minus the manual, A/C adapter and the Pixela Imagemaker CD. I downloaded and printed the 104 page manual, bought an adapter for $39.95 and now the freaking battery doesn't seem to be taking a charge. sheesh! The adapter I bought has a chilce of voltages which should I choose? 3.3 al the way up to 9.5 Also as to the software question: I thought you needed a program to store , organize pictures and to convert them down into jpegs for e-mailing. can you enlighten me?
Generally the pictures will transfer across to your computer as jpegs. If you have the right drivers on your computer, the memory stick should be recognized as a 'removable' disk drive. You can treat it like storage. You can pick and choose what images to transfer. You can create your own folders on Windows to transfer the images to. The digital photo software will allow you to do more advanced things including editing the photos (removing red eye, cropping, resizing, etc.) to creating albums, greeting cards and more.
