My inclination says this is a real good deal, but I don't necessarily need to make this purchase....but i want to. This is one of those buy it now deals that I lobbed in a low offer the seller is no willing to take... What do you think: Canon EOS 5D, 12.8 Megapixel, SLR, Digital Camera Sigma 28-80 mm F3.5-5.6 Lens (I'd probably re-sell) Sigma 70-300 mm f4.0-5.6 Lens (I'd probably re-sell) 4 GB CompactFlash ProSeries Attachable Flash 3 pcs pro filter kit High Resolution Wide Angle Lens Aluminum Hard Case 52 inch Vidpro Tripod Tabletop Tripod Compact Digital Camera Case Cleaning / Screen Protector Kit High Speed USB Card Reader The price is $2,000 I'm tempted... So you know, we don't take professional quality photographs or anything, but do enjoy serious photography as a hobby. Right now we have the very first model of the Canon EOS Digital Rebel. Perfectly fine camera, but obviously the 5D is an upgrade...
2000 bucks? I'm sorry, I must have misread the specs you listed. Where is the "automatic BJ giver" feature?
HAH, damn that's alot. I'm just looking for a regular digital camera. The button on my current one is stuck or something. I think $2,000 is out of my price range. I just need a nice point and shoot. Something less than 300 is fine. Sorry for the hijack. The only photographers I know on this board is Jeff.
The cheapest I found the body for, in a quick search, was $2349.00. This is an expensive camera. Really, really good cameras are expensive. Always have been. I had a Nikon FTN, back in the day, and considering what a dollar is worth now, I probably paid close to what JayZ is talking about. My big break was my Dad picking it up in Japan for me, while on his way to India or Pakistan for a summer USAID project. Saved me hundreds.
well, you probably gonna have to spend another grand or two on lenses to make it worth for buying this camera. if that's in your budget, then it's definitely great camera to have.
If he doesn't already have some nice lenses, he can find those used a lot easier than a camera body like the one he's looking at. I wouldn't spend that kind of money today, like I might have in the past, but I've got 2 teenagers!
We've got some nice lenses, but will be gradually getting more. Photography is just becoming an increasing more interesting hobby to us. Our best lens right now is: Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM And we're looking to add: Canon EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro USM My wife loves macro shots...absolutely loves them, so we'll almost definitely get that second lens. We have other lenses, of course, but those woudl be our 2 highest quality. The main point of this thread was just that the EBAY deal seems like a great deal. If I could sell off the lenses, I could maybe pocket another $300...effectively get a 5D plus some extra accessories for $1700 or less... here's a good shot with a comparable macro lens and the 5D
I just bought a 7mp m753 Kodak for 149. I also am not a serious photographer but I like having a camera to capture stuff i want to remember.
Read some of the reviews under the seller.........I think it will help you make the decision. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
