Sitting in the lower prom, behind the backboard closest to the Mavs bench, maybe row M or N. Ten or fifteen Mav fans. College-ish age boys. Holding up signs like "Hakeem is Old". Taking off their shirts to reveal green-painted chests.

I saw them get escorted out by security and police at the end of the 4th. Couple of Rockets security guards, couple of HPD officers making them leave with maybe 0:30 left in the game. Surprising they went to the trouble to eject them with so little time remaining in the game...

I was there and I saw the whole thing. I have no idea what happened to get them ejected, though. Anybody know for sure?

hi i'm a mavs fan from germany

here is why they were there

Mark Cuban has a new offer for Mavericks fans: Anyone who promises to show up at any Mavericks game – at home or on the road – painted in Mavericks blue or green can have tickets on the owner if seats are available. Cuban said he received an e-mail from a fan in Houston with the offer, and he agreed. Cuban bought 20 seats at the Compaq Center for about $35 per seat.

a question for those who were at the game
what do you think about dirk * diggler* nowitzki ?

    I like it!

Linde - Nowitzki is excellent. There is talk around the league now that he will be an allstar very soon. Just for the record, is the W in his name pronounced as a W or a V, because the commentators seem to use both?

Yeah, Lisa Maloskky(I think) did an interview with him and Cuban publicized his offer and even gave out his e-mail address where Mavs fans could contact him about getting the road game tickets(he doesn't need to give away home game tickets).

So do we pronounce the "e" in your name.

And how did you find cc.net being a Mav's fan in Germany. and respond so quickly to jamcracker. You must lurk here. Great first post, thanks for the info.

Are you female? That would make your presence even more special around here. We would have to seriously try to convert you to the Rockets, then.

    diggler is real!

Anybody know why they got thrown out by the cops at the end of the game? Clutch was taunting them during the game with silly-string and shaking his butt at them. I wonder what they did to get thrown out with so little time remaining...

Cuban's offer to Mav's fans was chronicled in the Dallas Morning News on Wednesday. I guess it applies to Dallas home games as well. Whatever. If you have to pay your fans to show up to cheer on your team at away games, I'd say your level of fan support outside the DFW area (and apparently Germany) is pretty anemic. I'll be at the Golden State game (as I have been for the past 4 years)wearing my Francis jersey . No, my face (nor any other body part, for that matter) will be painted and Les won't be reimbursing my expenses, but I won't be the only Rockets fan in the Oakland arena.

Hey I have no problem with fans from other teams being at our arena, actually I think is fun! If I lived in another city other then Houston and the Rox would come and play there I would definetly act up all crazy but not crazy enough to get thrown out cause I would want to be there at the end of the game.

I refer to him now as 'Dirkhead'.

You can ask Mark Cuban about it via email. His address is: mark.cuban@mavs.com, if I remember correctly. I guess it might be markcuban@mavs.com

    Mark.Cuban@Dallasmav(s?).com

he said that if you're willing to paint yourself up he'll give you free tickets.

I would never embarass myself like that rooting for the mavs but maybe for a sold out playoff game between Houston and Dallas I would paint myself green and go undercover for the seats. =)

I was at the game and noticed the Mavs fans. I actually thought it was cool to have some rowdy away team fans in the crowd. A couple of times they made some noise and it pumped up the Houston fans a little bit.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure they got thrown out of the game because while Clutch was shooting them down with silly string, one of them threw some green paint on him. I noticed as Clutch walked away, he had a bunch of paint on him and it must have been when they walked back to the locker room area under the stands they informed security to remove them.

What gets green paint off of bear?
