I woke up and found that my car was covered in water/dust like if a truck splashed it, but as I was driving around during my lunch hour and saw that alot of other cars looked the same. So, i just wanted to know if yall woke up to this. Im located in SE Houston near hobby.
I live in NW Austin, and I've got the same thing going on. Baby's gonna get a bath this weekend (and a waxing)!
This is very common where I live. Here in OC,CA we have morning marine layer like 90% of the year. So the surface of our cars get a bit moist, and when sun comes out, the water vaporizes and leaves dust and pollutions on our cars.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5631410.html March 19, 2008, 10:43AM Hidalgo County wildfire prompts 500 to evacuate SAN MANUEL, Texas — A wildfire in the Rio Grande Valley spread to about 25,000 acres today, forcing hundreds from their homes as officials pinpointed a fallen power line as the source of the huge blaze. A 40-mile stretch of U.S. 281 was reopened in both directions around 6:30 a.m., said Hidalgo County spokeswoman Cari Lambrecht. The fire is 50 percent contained with the area east of the highway under control and firefighters still battling the blaze to the west. At least four homes were destroyed, and bulldozers uprooted grass near the Hidalgo County Jail and an elementary school in hopes of stopping the encroaching flames, authorities said at a news conference this morning. At least 500 people were evacuated but no injuries had been reported. The Texas Forest Service had initially estimated the blaze covered about 50,000 acres, but an aerial survey today showed it to be about half that size, spokeswoman Sandra Taylor said. Still, it was burning in an area roughly 20 miles long and 2 miles wide, she said. "Right now, our priority is to save lives," Hidalgo County Judge J.D. Salinas said. The fire that started in Brooks County around 4 p.m. Tuesday had crept into Hidalgo and Willacy counties, officials said. A shelter was opened at Edinburg's North High School, but no one used it Tuesday night, Lambrecht said. Four burned structures were confirmed, but the county planned an aerial inspection this morning, she said. At one point there was an emergency call that 34 people were stranded in the brush near the fire. A search was fruitless, but they later heard that Customs and Border Protection had picked up a large group of illegal immigrants, Lambrecht said. The wildfire began after President Bush made federal aid available to 70 percent of Texas counties last weekend after wildfires scorched 133,000 acres across the state Friday.
yeah, mine too. i woke up, and was like WTF? i don't remember driving through any construction sites..
Wow, I'll add to the dittos... I had never seen it before, I thought I got splashed or something... weird (I'm in Austin too).
yea i also noticed it on lot of other cars... but the car im driving now is a loaner car so it dont matter to me
Same here my car looks like crap right now... I might wash it after work today, its such a great day outside $KO40A$
Same thing, I thought at first it was because one of my neighbors was repaving his driveway for the 2nd time after the rain from a few days ago messed it up before it finished drying. But then I saw lots of other cars looking just as awful. It's like somebody pumped standing water from a construction site right onto my car.
