Today is election day. Did you exercise your right as a citizen? Who and what did you vote for/against?
I can't believe there are 11 amendments to the state constitution to look over. Good God, it's like cramming for a test.
Nope. They guy I was going to re-elect as Mayor committed suicide. Didn't know any other candidates among the 3 remaining mayor candidates, nor anyone going for the 3 council seats up for bid. With no propositions to vote on, there really is no reason for me to go.
I hope you jest. To vote simply on partisan lines has always seemed either lazy or uninformed, to me.
It's not lazy if you've done your research and agree with the particular party and candidates you are voting for.
I ended up voting for Parker. From what I understand, Brown is bound to get the plurality, and the runner-up will face him in December. So, I had to pick between Parker and Locke to face him, and I kept flip-flopping the whole way. Don't you have 11 propositions to vote on?

11 state constitution changes, including Proposition 4, which would establish a path that UH and other institutions could follow to become Tier 1 univeristies. EDIT: Nevermind, should have read the whole thread...still, Prop. 4 should interest Texas voters. No new taxes or bonds, all the money exists in a fund already, Prop. 4 just allows us to use it.
I read an article about it in the Chron after seeing it mentioned here. How weird that they would create a huge fund and just leave it dormant. My guess is that it passes.
Will probably go later in the afternoon. Its going to be interesting as this is the first election that Minneapolis is using instant runoff / ranked choice voting.
