I did, but it wasn't easy. Had to turn around twice because of flooded streets. We have about 75% of our people out today, so my post count is probably going to double. I should have stayed in bed, because all these people are basically going to get a free day off like last time it flooded.
I made it to work on time too but than again im the store owner so i had to find a way. Not as bad as i was thinking though. What part of town is really bad?
Yes...came straight up 610 from Meyerland to 290 in 15 minutes at 6:45 AM. There was a roadside assistance truck on the right shoulder on 610 North between I-10 and 290, where it curves, with it's cop lights on. I think he was there to slow people down as they went around the curve. He succeeded. Hope I can make it home....
I think all the people who didn't make it to work went back to sleep, that's why there's no votes for NO yet.
In, but barely. Not fun going through flooded streets as my car sits so low to the ground. Scary chit.
yea not really a problem the water in the local streets near my house was starting to meet in the middle, but nothing I couldnt handle in the company truck...now, my SS isnt leaving the house since its so low..but that is the advantage of haivng a truck, it doesnt have to. the rest of the trip in was on The Beast...which was no problem but you should see the area around the San Jac River bridge...its already low enough...and with the tides being abnormally high....is starting to flood. Definitely noticably higher..
I work up north so I took 610N to 59N rather than my usual 288 N (flooded) to 45N(flooded) It would have been a good day to skip work.
my neighborhood entrance was flooded so couldn't get out, finally got in at 10:30, in the southwest side
I did - I didn't almost because of a hangover more than anything. Driving home last night was bad between downtown and 610 on 45N around 12:30.
Yup...woke up with my alarm and rolled out of bed. Walked about 10 paces to my desk and fire up the PC. I'm gonna have to work on that commute, the gas prices are killing me.
I made it to work today. About 80% of the office decided to stay home though. Last time there was a really bad storm like this, no one got docked a sick day. Instead they gave the handful of us who came in a comp day. We'll see what happens this time.
I wonder if the moderators can change the poll question to "will you make it home after work tonight without floating away?" This is NOT going to be a fun commute home. Why did I come to work today? Why, WHY, WHY?!?!?!?
No kidding. I work on I-10 near the Washburn tunnel and the ship channel spilloff has flooded just about everything. My car is gonna need some floaties.
