Did you drink more under the age of 21 or over the age of 21?

where's the option for "the same or similar?"

 

I drunk more before, I had a fake ID since I was 15 years old and I grew facial hair by the age of 12 so I was easy to pass off as older. It sort of ruined the whole turning 21 thing though.

well the peer pressure is there a lot more when you are under 21 i guess.

 

I drank a lot more as a teenager than I did later.

1. It was the best way to get laid and that was always objective #1
2. Every teenager needs to defy authority, look macho to his friends,
live before they get old. Irresponsible drinking fills all those needs.

 

I barely drank before I turned 21 just because I wanted to avoid the MIPs that so many of my friends got. I'd rather not have my future ruined (in law enforcement) by some stupid charge because I couldn't wait until I was 21 to drink.

 

I self medicated before 21 but it wasn't with alcohol, now that I'm older with more responsibilities, alcohol is the safest way to do that.

 

Ive grown up to be a smart drinker. It used to be almost everyday and now I only drink when I go to a Rockets, Astros or Texan game. I dont have my fridge full of it now. I do drink wine though.

 

Many cops have drug charges etc. I don't think a MIP would hurt anything.

 

I'm not going to vote on this poll because this wasn't the true intention, but... I drank more under the age of 21. Because then every once in a while I would accidentally take a sip of something with alcohol in it. Since I've been 21, I've been better about knowing where to avoid it.

(in other words, I've never drank on purpose in all this time. I just don't like the way it smells or tastes and I don't want to put it in my body. Not to mention that I guess I just have high standards for myself and I want to face life as it comes, not through some chemical... it's lonely doing this, though, as you're missing out on the unspoken fraternity that happens when people bond through their shared substances or vices (can also be cigarettes or weed, and I don't do those either))

The real difference for me is not how much I consumed, but that I am a much more informed drinker now than I was before I was 21. As a teenager I drank whatever was put in front of me and now I stick to a few select choices. I no longer mix and match and as a result I enjoy drinking, rather than looking for the "buzz".

 

Worked at a bar before and after 21. Got drunk more often around 21 before and after. I don't drink at all now, save the occasional wine with dinner.

 

I drank the most during late-thirties.

I couldn't find anyone to sell me some weed.

 

never really drank before 21, so i'm defaulted to after. But I'll say I drank more at 23-24 than 21-22. I think it depends on your peers at any given time.

Plus, there's a "drinking timeline" I think most people seem to follow. When you start that timeline is up to you...some of you started it at 15 or 17 and got over it around 21. I started it at 21 and will get over it eventually.. (but not yet)

 

Never drank in high school, but MORE than made up for lost time in college...

 

I swore off the evils of drink as a teenager, even when in France. I relaxed the rules a bit when I was around 20 put I still don't have more than a drink or two in any bout.

 

I probably drink more now after I am 21 but I know I got a lot more hammered when I was under 21. I'll have a beer or two every once in a while after I get back from work. But its rare for me to get buzzed/drunk anymore while when I was under 21 I probably would drink maybe once every 3 weeks, but I drank so much that one time.

I think with most people they do drink more after 21 but the way they drink changes.

I mean last time I bought beer was in feb for the superbowl and I still have like about 8 bottles from the 40 I bought for the party still.

 

True in some regards, it just hurts more and more the higher (federal) up you try to go. I just recently heard from a speaker that the FBI is considered exempting some minor mar1juana charges or at least answering yes to a question about smoking it because they have so many candidates being refused because of them. A clean record always looks better when trying to get a job.
