i found it annoying until now. Everytime you try to open something everythin goes dim it will say "It needs your permission to continue", and the answer is always "Continue".......why the hell wouldnt i want it to continue? But, just now i was at cbssports.com and everything went dim to ask me if i wanted to run Exec.exe. I didnt know what it was so i googled it and apparently its either a part of NetZero Internet-access service's software, or a part of the W32/Spybot-Z trojan. I was going to turn off the "needing permission" feature, but i guess i should be glad Vista is doing what it's doing... its a pretty nice OS
really.... Im kinda in agreement with him, and I'm a huge anti-MS guy. SO far, it has proven itself as a nice looking, relatively secure OS that is continuing with the improvments in stability XP showed. I realize it borrows heavily from OSX, but you know what? thats a good thing for IBM-clone users. We get the features and look of MacOSX with the software compatibility of Windowz. Im pleasantly surprised so far with how easily I got used to how Vista works. only gripe I have is with the developers that are forcing the consumer to buy a totally new software that works right in Vista instead of just releasing upgrades to existing software. I use Scansoft PDF COnverter 3, which isnt that old (< year), but had to buy the new version to get it to work with Vista.
^ MS will eventually get it right...or they will drop out of the market ... and they aren't going to drop out of the OS market anytime soon. I've been doing BizTalk development lately and I feel like I'm somewhere inbetween 3.1 and NT4.
