Before 1984 NBA draft, we rejected the offer from Portland which turned out to be Clyde and M Jordan. We missed a great dynasty in Houston. Before 1999 NBA draft, we rejected the offer from Toronto which turned out to be Jon Blender, Cory Maggeatte, Doug Christie and Willis. Check out our future lineup: Cato, Blender, Maggeatte, Anderson, Francis Plus Mobley, Chrtistie, KT, Rogers, Drew and our lottery pick this year. The best part is that we would be able to offer something for Duncan, Hill and Carter. Ok, what if we also selected Rashard Lewis instead of the guy from Turkey. Man, our could-be bench can beat our starers now.
I'm sorry if you feel like I'm singling you out Peking but I'm a little tired of "what if" scenarios. I don't mean to pick on you but yours is about the tenth post I've read today that tries to prognosticate what our team would be today if we had traded for MJ, or not traded for Barkley, or gotten Clyde sooner, or kept Pippen, would we still have Cassell, or Francis, or Dream. Well guys, if Grandma had nuts, she'd be Grandpa. Get over it, and as Garth says, "Live in the now!" ------------------ The truth is out there.
Ok to the Rashard Lewis stuff. I talked to rashards brother like 2 weeks ago and in the conversation I asked him about Rashard. I asked him if he thinks rashard will sign with the rockets . He told me this, that rashard was a little angry at houston when they didnt pick him up but he still would love to play in houston again. But if rashard gets the right money offered then he would come. He also added that the playing time opportunity was important to him. If houston gave him a starting job then he would become interested. I would go after rashard. He works his butt off to play and has alot of talent.
1 post, 2 lambastings. I like Blender, hes a good kid. ------------------ Not only am I president of the WaltWizFanClub, I'm also the member.
My apologies BeijingMallard, didn't mean to offend. It's just that I would rather focus on the future. Plus I hate the Knicks so I got my bad mood on... ------------------ The truth is out there. [This message has been edited by Mulder (edited March 14, 2000).]
Hey i'm only 16 alomst 17 so never quite figured out what is this trade that would have gotten us mj and clyde? would we have had hakeem also?
we had the #1 pick. portland had the number 2 pick. we picked olajuwon. portland says theyll send drexler and the #2 for sampson. with the #2 we would have picked up jordan. im only 14 and i know that man. ------------------ KISS The Floor Beneath ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, yeah, and we picked Robert Horry instead of Latrell Sprewell and hell, they both played on the same college team and came out the same year. (I think) ------------------ <this space for rent>
... and we already had Vernon Maxwell on the roster- hell, even New York can handle no more than one sociopath on the 12-man... Horry's defensive work at the 4 during the '95 title run was, for a normally flaccid and spotty ballplayer, cash money. I won't slam that pick- ever. And he hasn't been the same player since leaving Houston... a side note... Spree looks for all the world like an FAS child, i.e. his mama was a prenatal boozer. the widely spaced eyes, the miswired psyche... he might have webbed feet as well... ------------------ "We have no eternal allies and we have no perpetual enemies. i got to thinking last night and something struck me- although it probably had something to do with nachos and chocolate pudding. <URK> it seems to be a bit self-aggrandizing to follow up one of my own posts, but... when was the last time the rocks had a sociopath on the roster? 1995 (Max) when was the last time the rocks won a title? 1995 so... bring in Leon Smith, let him dazzle every once in a while, then sit him down... let him declare himself the emperor of Compaq Center, marry a squirrel, drink cod liver oil by the gallon, whatever... what this team needs is a destabilizing catalyst on the roster to shake the rest of them into a tighter focus on the task at hand. It's too late for this season, but seeing as how the team's serious money is tied up through next year, a wild card couldn't hurt. Too much, anyway... well, by now you're used to losing, so what's another headache if it leads to chemistry? ------------------ "We have no eternal allies and we have no perpetual enemies. uhhm... I think Dallas already tried that. And Atlanta. dont think it worked. ------------------ Not only am I president of the WaltWizFanClub, I'm also the member.
What is it they say about hindsight?? Don't forget why we are Clutch City. Geeze! ------------------ HOOP-T Hey Shaq, Acme called, and they want their bricks back!
