I'm not bashing Steve at all here... I just want to say that after seeing Bibby grow up in this series, I'm a believer. The guy's a stud. He stepped up, hit the biggest shots, and put the Kings on his shoulders. You could almost feel his pain after the loss by the look in his eyes. Steve's starting All-Star streak might end at one...
Bibby has been in the NBA longer then Francis so he has more experience. He also has college experience, he stayed in Arizona for 4 years and won a national championship, Francis only stayed one year. I know people are going to get on this trip of "Look at Bibby almost getting to the Finals, now look at Francis". Where was Bibby while playing for the Grizzlies? I wonder what would have happened if you dropped Francis on a proven team like Sacramento. If Bibby stays on Vancouver/Memphis then what? Give Francis a very good team I'm pretty sure he would hit big shots. That's why I want the Rockets to load up on quality, proven players for next year and make a run at the playoffs next season. Bibby is cut from the same mold as Francis and Mobley. Quick, deadly, fearless and cold-blooded. What Bibby did I think Francis and Mobley could do in the playoffs. But first the Rockets have to get them some help to get there and strut there stuff. Remember, that was Bibby's first NBA playoff run.
He also has college experience, he stayed in Arizona for 4 years and won a national championship Bibby left after his sophomore season. Francis, I believe, had 3 college seasons, although they were scattered with 3 different teams (two Juco's, I think).
Actually you're right, Arizona won the national championship with Miles Simon as a freshman backcourt. I don't really count JUCO as much. I respect JUCOs, but it's obvious that, even though they're more experienced then High School players and more ready for Division I, it doesn't help a ton when it comes to the NBA, that's why you don't really see players jumping from JUCO or Division II and into the NBA. Bibby is obviously VERY good. But you give Francis the weapons Bibby has with Sacramento and Francis could be a major star in the playoffs to.
