I thought about this while i watched the grizzlies defeat the cavs, then when I saw the terrible sign steve francis blog i assumed he is still relevent.

    Here is my theory

Francis refused to go to the grizzlies when he was drafted, and then at the disappointing end of francis' career memphis traded for him even though they didnt need anymore guards.

Then they waived him and threw him out of the organization like some 3 week old kitty litter.

I think it was an act of dish served cold revenge.

Trade for steve using a bag of rusty nickels and when you get him waive him soon thereafter and humiliate him.

It was one of many of the grizzlies cash consideration deals. So the answer is no.

The grizzlies haven't thought about francis in some time. We got plenty of good players and if you want the game you saw rudy punk lebron several times.

The grizzlies have been 3 .667 or about win teams in the last 11 days. The cavs, Mavs and the blazers. So yeah, it's an understatement that the grizzlies are playing well.

Grizzlies have been playing better lately. The biggest surprise so far to me is Randolf playing team basketball. He's always been a jackass and only care about his 20/10, now he actually passes the ball. it seems like this season Grizzlies might not be the laughing stock of the league again.

Is there even anyone still in the Grizzles' front office who was there in 1999?

And how is it revenge to waive a guy that nobody in the league wants anyway?

That would be above petty on the part of the Grizzlies. Why should they care? They've always had it tough as far as an organization. First, no one wants to play in Canada (although I hear Vancouver is beautiful, that isn't Consideration #1 on the part of most NBA players), and now, getting a fan base in Memphis to care and cough up the dough, especially when you have an NCAA team that's usually pretty good.....

So, no, Memphis wasn't jerking Steve around, although I'm sure Heisley or whatever the owner's name is wasn't crying himself to sleep when he cut Steve. Everyone knew that was the deal.

Someone really should help Heisley to lie, though. He kept saying at the time how they acquired Steve and he would help the young players and such. We all KNOW you're doing this to get back the draft pick, dude.

And then when he acquired Iverson? Saying, No, we didn't get him to sell tickets. Uh, I know you can't always say the flat-out truth to the camera, but you need to practice that B.S.'ing, dude.

Zach is playing defense and team ball for sure. He and Marc Gasol blend together nicely and those two guys, along with Gay's great playing of late: Gay had 3 blocks and 4 steals last night, have if not the best front line in basketball, they are certainly top 2 or 3. As I was trying to say earlier, in the last 11 days the grizzlies have beaten the mavs, blazers (on the road) and the cavs, all of those teams were above .667 when we took them down. And we had the clippers down 20 in the fourth quarter which should have been an easy win for the grizz.

The grizzlies have the youngest rotation in the league, so they are going to do dumb things (it's expected) but right now I don't think too many teams want to play them.

On a side note, Rudy Gay embarrassed Lebron several times in that game. This is the first time I've ever seen rudy go SO HARD at another player. It makes you wonder what Gay's ceiling is. His defense was like a cross between a young Robert Horry/ Scottie Pippen last night.

Would love to have someone to get revenge to me this way.
Trade for me, then give me a couple million to stay at home.

I like how people claim a player is selfish because their stats are 20/10? is he really being selfish by rebounding?

Well, if he's pulling a Ricky Davis and tossing the ball off the other team's backboard to pad his stats.

We paid Memphis to take Stevie. We gave them back a 2nd round pick and money so no I don't think it was about revenge.

They traded for Francis be cause, we gave them cash to cover his contract plus thier own 2nd round draft pick which they used for Sam Young, so we can get under the tax thing.

Well, it's not that he gets a 20/10 that made him selfish, it's how he get that 20/10 that made him selfish. He's always been a black hole on the court. Whenever and wherever he gets the ball, he's gonna shoot it. He's probably had as many WTF moments as any other current players in the league, if not more.
