point shaving? if that ish is real there shouls be some sort of investigation my thoughts it will never happen
That was just odd. That ref didn't try to get out of the way. He tried to get in the way. I'll assume that is just one of those "WTF just went through my head" moments. Strange...
This reminds me of that hilarious beer commercial where the ref goes for the sack/tackle just to get the free beer the defending player promised to whomever could make the stop! This looks to obvious to not investigate but doubt anything becomes of it...
Yeah, I actually just experienced one of those. I was walking toward a dumpster with my Wendy's bag filled with trash, but before I tossed it I remembered there was a little package of crackers still in the bag and I wanted them for later. So I reach into the bag, grab the crackers, and proceed to toss them straight into the dumpster. I was like "Way to go you stupid ****".
I was gonna post this because this is just downright odd. Not sure how this cannot be investigated. We'll see what happens because it straight looks like the ref was trying to (and succesfully) stop the runner.
I just had one of those but it was like way after the fact. I had gotten a big mac meal from McDs and I totally forgot, even though I reminded myself, to pull the Monopoly pieces off of the box. Later I was grabbing the pieces from my cointray and it occurred to me I should have had 6.
wow i dont see how that isnt the most obvious thing in the world. the ref made no attempt whatsoever to move out of the way of the runner and laid a pretty good lick on him. i doubt he would have been able to get a TD out of the play but certainly another yard maybe 2. it was first and goal what happened did SC kick a FG or end up scoring a td?
I routinely get up and walk away from a table at a restaurant leaving behind my leftovers that I boxed up. Never fails.
They'd like us to believe he was the only one. I think they scored a TD, anyway about two plays later.
I am a football referee on the weekends.....and Im here to tell you that you ARE TAUGHT to do that when you take classes on officiating. The thing is.....most teams have plays that run to your spot (using you as a pick) to get a wr or rb free. Ive experienced this; as several teams throw right over my head so that I can be used as an obstacle for the defensive back. We get graded every week on the games that we do and I actually got a lower grade because I didnt bat the ball down. Its not only for the safety of the referees and umpires but also for the db's. Everytime it starts happening, I bat the ball down and believe me, it discourages it. You dont see it as much in the pros but it happens quite a bit in high school games as well as freshmen and junior high games.
Could you elaborate on this a little more? Because what you're saying doesn't sound like anything that is going on in the video. I understand throwing around refs to use them as a pick but this is a rushing play where the ref runs tosses a bow at the QB.
I was a referee for a year and they NEVER taught me that...Every veteran official that I talked to that year told me to do everything in my power to protect myself from the players. If I was working the sideline and a player was running out of boards, they told me to move away from the player and back, as to away and forward.
