Did Morey ever improve the team during the season?

Artest, Harden, Howard are all acquired before regular season. Maybe Dikembe Mutombo signing, McGrady/Martin trade, Brooks/Dragic trade can be considered as improvement. But most likely, the rockets are more flexible financially but worse in basketball or chemistry as season evolves. That's one of the reasons why we finished at 9,9,9,8 in western conference for last 4 years.

what about adding camby. he was a beast rebounding something we lacked. it wasn't morley's fault coach disappeared him in the fourth playing scola at center while bear and camby watched. and after the game follow it up with gems like, "guys, we we we got out rebounded tonight." ya think!

If it's not broke don't fix it, just surround them with better players. Last year our big problem was PF, when asik say our defense went down, & we needed a perimeter player.

if I was the GM I would have signed millsapp & iggy for 9mill each 2 years. Would have still had 5 mill to spend on a back up center etc & the mid level tax exempt contract would have threw that at dunleavy, he moves without the ball vs Garcia and casspi just standing around looming for a 3. Patterson would be the perfect playing behind millsapp.

This solves the pf spot & brings in one the best in the business at perimeter defense that also would've fit our run and gun system like a glove. You can have your superstars to sell tickets but as old rockets fans should know to win a championship it's about other players playing hard and being clutch & ready to step up any night.

That's funny stuff. Iguodala isn't coming here for 9 mill to be a 6 seed.

iggy's contract averages 12 million for 4 years. Millsapp got 9 from atl, but there were no other suitors. The best backup center you MAY have gotten would be Dalembert, who is average, and you don't have a mid level exception if you have cap space, you have a room exception for 2+ million.

Even if you could accomplish all the things you lined out, the team you would have would be in the bottom half of the WC playoffs.

I'm ok with team we have now once Lin & asik get back, we still need more athletic back up wing, but morey can work that out with Canaan, Covington, dmo, brewer in small trades. Marcus Morris would be a good player to still have around.

about the seeding we were 8th last year could have been 6th easy if we wouldn't have fell off at the end. so what makes you think having iggy, millsapp, Patterson added to that would make us bottom of the west?

Winkfan- look at how Portland is playing last year as a team that didn't even make the playoffs, they're running and gunning just like we did last year

We need Lowry back!! Push the tempo, hits the J, and provides toughness, which I think we lack....we look too weak at times

We would have to get rid of McHale for Lowry to even consider coming back.

He also brought over a guy named Patrick Beverley from Russia last year during the season.

As for this season, there is the possibility we're going to pick somebody up after this round of amnesties. There is talk Boozer could be amnestied. I would hate to see the Rockets trade for Boozer, but I would not at all be opposed to the Rockets picking him up off the waiver wire. A bigger long shot is Zach Randolph. With the Grizzlies floundering and Z-Bo only getting older, maybe they do something unexpected and opt for the full rebuild?

Here is a list of all of the remaining eligible amnesty candidates. Only Boozer and Kendrick Perkins are considered possible amnesty candidates according to the article.

Trading away Patterson and Marcus Morris, then playing Carlos Delfino at PF really hurt us last season. Please don't do anything like that again Morey.

Everybody bids for the player as if he were on waivers. The team with the highest bid gets him at that price for the year, and the player makes the same amount as his original contract with original team having to pay the difference between the original salary and the bid.

This is what happened to Scola I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If anyone pays attention during the season, the players start sucking before the trade deadline because they hear how Morally wheels and deals his assets. This drops their value to the point where Daryl can't sell high.

After the trade deadline, a "miraculous run" occurs where they overwork and overperform around .600 or better ball.

Except that's the absolute worst time to peak...right before the playoffs in order to barely make or miss it.

Then we start creating topics on what-if injuries or "stars who really aren't stars" while other teams are roaring through the post-season.

The bright side is that Morally can then sell his assets high during the offseason way beyond how much they were actually worth.

    Ugh
