I don't know if this has been discussed before, but Mike Tyson probably didn't rape anyone in 1992. World famous defense attorney Alan M. Dershowitz studied the case and made a compelling case that Tyson was innocent. Please chime in with your thoughts.
What were his infamous lines of innocence? I didn't rape the *****, but I would now just to make up for the prison time....
"No I didn't rape that slimy b**** ... lying reptilian young lady ... put me in this state ... where I don't know ... now I really do want to rape her, her and her mama ..."
If you read his book, he makes an extremely compelling case that Tyson didn't rape her. The things that hurt Tyson was that Don King gave him a TAX ATTORNEY for a criminal case of this magnitude and he didn't show any remorse at the trial.
I never thought he raped her either. His comments about how he wished he did it since he had to do prison time makes sense. I know that a girl has a right to say no if she dosent want to have sex but didnt she go to his room at like 3 am? She couldnt be that naive, but I guess we'll never know.
Seems like there is a line that once you cross it, it is hard to turn back. Yes it makes you an animal, but does it really make you a criminal?
There was a lot of evidence that for some reason was not allowed to be used by the defense. Afterwards, a lot of the jurors said they would have voted not guilty if this evidence was allowed to be presented. For example: The young lady had falsely accused someone else of rape in her past. I can't believe his promotor Don King put a tax attorney in a criminal trial of such magnitude. Only in America.
If someone makes you really mad, I mean REALLY mad, mad enough to hit them in the face and then they hit you back and that makes you even madder and just keep hitting them until you kill them, well, I mean it seems like there is a line that once you cross it, it is hard to turn back. Yes it makes you an animal, but does it really make you a criminal? You want to outlaw abortion, but you're not sure if rape should be a crime. Man, are we different.
I've always kind of suspected that the jury got it wrong - but then again I suspect that the OJ jury got it wrong too. I must just be naturally suspicious of juries.
i hear ya. i don't get that line of reasoning either, giddyup. it absolutely makes you a criminal. the law is pretty well settled as to rape! break the law, and you're a criminal. i understand self-defense as a justification for what would otherwise be a crime...but because you want to have sex REALLY bad, does that make it ok to take it even if she says no. if your answer to that question is yes, i'd like to lock you up just for thinking that way!
perfect example to why people "settle" cases out of court. yes, im bumping this because we have morons who think because you settle a case out of court, you're guilty. there's actually a good chance that tyson didnt rape this woman. image is everything. tyson and michael jackson had a negative imagine. tyson was an idiot to think he couldve won this case.
