99% of the time you can use this complaint with the antics of either party, but this time the 'questioning' approach is purposefully being shark jumped to show how idiotic the style is.

I'd hardly call it the same antics when it is a level 11 hyperbole to prove a point.

I heard his radio show about 5 years ago and all he was doing was trying to rip off Phil Hendrie by having a fake caller call in. Obviously, it was really lame and I remember thinking to myself "sheesh, what a tool."

 

I don't believe for a second that anybody is actually trying to convince anyone that Glenn Beck raped and killed a young girl. I just think there are more intelligent and tasteful ways of handling it.

Parody is often an excellent method to point out abuses or hypocrisy. You may think this particular instance excessive, but sometimes it's the only effective way to relate the ridiculousness inherent to a particular strategy or propoganda.

And please, I think we can do away with the "act like a mature adult spiel" - that should be directed at Beck, not the people upset about his tripe and acting out accordingly.
