Oklahoma City Bombing Conspirator To Be Released On Friday OKLAHOMA CITY -- The news is beginning to set in on Wednesday for the victims of the Oklahoma City bombing. Terri Watkins Reports: 5 P.M. | 6 P.M. | Discuss Convicted conspirator Michael Fortier will be released from prison in two days. While some victims understand his early release, others said they're stunned and angry. "He made choices in his life that were contrary to what society says is the right thing. He's not paid for that. I don't belive he has," said Kathleen Treanor, who lost three relatives in the April 19, 1995, bombing in Oklahoma City that killed 168 people. Fortier was the star witness for the prosecution in Timothy McVeigh's case. McVeigh was convicted and executed for the bombing. However, Fortier was convicted for knowing about the bombing before it happened and not saying anything about it. The families of victims started getting letters this week telling them that Fortier was due to be released this Friday. The letters don't say where Fortier will go after he is released, but officials said he will be on supervised probation for three years.
