Line was Detriot -6.5 that game Watch Dick Bavetta !!
And the part making fun of Wade injurying his arm was classless to. From all reports Wade is a class guy, so why laugh at him getting injured. Because of a crooked ref that he had nothing to do with?
You gotta keep the Dwayne Wade injury thing out of it. That's petty as hell and dilutes what is otherwise a very strong case. To tell the truth, when you see stuff like that, you wonder if Bavetta is gonna wind up in jail. Now you can see a bit how it works, covering the spread. One thing I've been saying is that I wonder if gamblers have gotten to the refs (probably a defense they would use in desperate straits, whether or not it's true, "they threatened me/my family") or if it's just pure-ass greed.
looks like steve doesnt like bavetta either <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/VJtVEStfxSg&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VJtVEStfxSg&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Yeah, the 5-count sucked, but the blocks? Those were good blocks in slow mo, but things like that get called fouls all the time. ALL the time. No big deal.
Exactly? There's BS calls being made all the time? So shouldn't something be done about that? lol. Yeah anyways that video definitely made the game look suss. Lol at the stevie video "there's absolutely no excuse for steve to with language like that"
Which Wade are you talking about? All the Wade reports I've heard is that he milks injuries and cried after dislocating his shoulder. I'm not saying it didn't hurt, but he's an NBA player. At least walk to the locker room.
Whether it's rigged or not - the NBA is the most frustrating game to watch because the fouls are so utterly subjective. Sure, hockey and soccer has some calls that could go either way - but they only happen a few times per game. Basketball, on the other hand, can be and is controlled by the refs on nearly every single play. It's my favorite sport to play and watch, but I don't know any system that could be put in place to avoid such controversy. If you browse through any championship run you'll find the refs played an nearly equal role to what happened...from Michael Jordan pushing Russell to get free and Karl Malone not getting the call on the other end to Robert Horry getting away with a bodycheck on Nash and Phoenix getting players suspended for something that wasn't called in this year's playoffs. I don't know if it's human error or conspiracy, but it's frustrating either way.
