After watching their review of the upcoming season, on NBA.com TV, they never once mentioned the Rockets? (unless I missed something).

They mentioned the top 10 players in the league, no mention of Francis! They mention the top coaches: Jackson, George Karl & Pat Riley, no mention of Rudy. They talked a little bit about upcoming teams: ATLANTA!!!!!!! (give me a break). Mentioned that Phoenix will be the same team this year (with marbury), and will get knocked out of the 2nd round (Phoenix or Minnesota will have to step aside for the ROCKETS this year).

Even Hakeem got a plug. I wonder if Hakeem will get more national respect, since he is out of Houston now and playing with Vince Carter. Did anybody notice on the ESPN website, that they now have Hakeem embedded into the graphics (with Ray Allen) on the main NBA page.

I am just wondering how hard it would of been for Barkley/Smith to talk about what Houston accomplished last season, and what could happen this season. I mean Francis was the only player to record 500 rebounds & 500 assists last year, and the only player to lead his team in like 3-4 categories.

Once again it just goes to show how Houston gets no respect, not even from our own governor Rick Perry, its a little off the subject, but he was quoted as saying, [Dallas didn't get an Olympic bid, I mean hooray for Houston, but I still think Dallas would have made a great choice](paraphrased). First we need to get local respect, then hope for national recognition.

Actually I noticed that around the time Hakeem went on a surge in March. I was pretty shocked that he was embedded on the big ol' ESPN site.

What the hell has Francis done to be in the top 10. Hes top 20 maybe, He'll reach the top 15 after this season. But hes not in the class with Shaq, Kobe, McGrady.

Your team had a shot at playoffs with Jackson now you have little chance.

trade man, please we know your a magic fan but this is a rockets board. Now im sorry, but francis will be in the top 10 class this yr, as the best pt guard in the game (sorry gp and kidd), yes its close but steve is ready to breakout. As for marc jackson, kevin willis will give us his production and veteran experience mjax never couldve provided and a much friendlier contract. Now, we can compete with anyone out west although i admit LA and Sacto are tough. Phoenix isnt the same team this yr marbury is a me player while kidd was a team player and dealing cliff for crap hurts too. Minnesota is practically the same team as last yr, and KG cant really do it all alone, brandon is decent as is wally but francis, mobley, rice is a better overall trio although it very close and id take it either way plus our pf-thomas/griffin c-cato/willis has the advantage over slater or rasho and joe smith and i think utah will start to decline, and portland you never know, so i think anywhere from 5-8 seed is perfectly attainable even a 4seed above dallas, although tougher.

Instead of all your trollish one-two line posts why dont you take a hint from mfclark, a quality magic fan posting on this site and actually post meaningful content not just troll drivel

Where the hell did all the trolls come from, come out for Halloween? If your going to post troll jibberish atleast put some thought into it, some content.

Barbourdg - That has always pissed me off, it seems Charles and Kenny go out of their way not to say a word about the rockets. It's like they think they will look biased if they say something good about the Rocks. I don't even care if they say something bad about our team, just say something god damnit!

Oh well this year and many more to come they will be talking. Rockets against the world, what's new? :D

Is Jackson that much better than Willis? What has Francis done? Watch the f*cking games. You could be a writer for espn.

Just to challenge myself, let's see if i can name 10 better players than Franchise AT THIS POINT IN THEIR CAREERS (Francis will surpass most eventually):

In no order:

Kobe Bryant
Shaquille O'neal
Vince Carter
Tim Duncan
Kevin Garnett
Tracy Mcgrady
Allen Iverson (I'm putting him on here against my own beliefs)

The following are debatable (I think Franchise does more for his team than these guys):

Jason Kidd
Chris Webber

I can't name any more. Anyone disagree?

Ummm...McFly...you don't get your pic on a video game unless you're one of the top players in the league.

I am a homey. The Rockets have chemistry with Francis. I wouldn't trade him for any player in the league including Shaq. Shaq has been the better player, but Rudy has carved the current Rockets lineup around the Francis and Mobley combo just as the current Lakers have been fit around Shaq. I don't think Kobe fits well with his teammates as Shaq, but a top ten player almost always is helpful.

Griffin and Cato fit the athletic profile need in the frontcourt for a Francis Mobley lead team. Morris will provide the 3/4 player that can play as a SF or a PF in the three guard. Rice and Mo can create spacing (The whole Rudy philosophy is to get spacing on offense for the superstar and deny it on defense, in my opinion). Rice, Griffin, and Willis will give the rockets a low post option, if wanted.

A good streak of health (Mo in time to make playoff roster, especially) and some maturation (Griffin to play like a vet, especially) is all this team needs. The Rice window is three years. Make'em count

I would add Finley, Nowitzki, a healthy Grant Hill, perhaps Jordan and Marbury to your debatable list.

Houston is the fourth largest market in the United States... If I'm not mistaken. The only conceivable reason why Houston gets shafted so much is because of their lack of marketability. ie. uniforms. It's too bad our first vote was shot down. We could have had these uniforms by now. Of course I can be wrong, but I am open for other reasons. I'm sure there are a few reasons intertwined.

You gotta be kidding me. Nowitzki and Marbury are not better than Francis. Nowitski is a one trick pony and that is why he got shut down in the playoffs by San Antonio and Marbury is a bigger ball hog than Iverson with less skills. Finley is arguable, but I doubt anyone would trade Francis for Finley. Jordan(despite his age) is definitely better than almost everyone in the league except Shaq. And it depends on how healthy Hill is.

Finley is the one that got shut down in the playoffs by San Antonio. Dirk had a great series. And no I wouldn't trade Francis for Finley. But I'm not a big Finley fan anyway. But SA did shut him down. He had a couple of 3-17 shooting performances. Dirk had a 40 point game and a couple of high 20's.

Paul Pierce belongs in the top players also. Maybe fringe Top 10. Lamar Odom is there as well. Shareef Abdul Rahim is also really underrated. I'd probably take Pierce and Odom over Fracis right now. And I really like Francis.

LOL!!! Yeah Nowitzki was shut down in game 5. The Mavs TEAM scored 87 points, Nowitzki had 42 of them.

Game1-9pts
Game2-19pts
Game3-15pts
Game4-30pts
Game5-42pts

One trick pony? Who writes your jokes?

Imagine, if you will, a draft of all the current NBA players. I would be willing to bet that there would be some GMs who would take any of the "debatable" players I listed over Francis.

And why would you call Nowitzki a "one-trick pony"? He averaged 22 points and 9 rebounds last year. As far as being shut down in the playoffs, he averaged 23 points and over 8 rebounds a game against the Spurs.

As of Today:

Francis over Dirk (Francis has more ways to beat you), Marbury
(we will see if he can play the team game)
Francis DEFINTELY over Finley, Odom, Pierce, SAR, he is just more
difficult to contain than those guys

Webber DEFINTELY over Stevie (Webber is one of the 5 best overall)
Kidd, Payton over Stevie (could change by the end of this year though)

No argument against the original 7 listed as better than Stevie.

Who knows yet where Hill, Jordan or Sheed stack up yet as a total contributing players on this list right now--too many (different) unanswered questions for each of them right now.

That puts Stevie as high as #11, surely within the top 15, he could crack the top 10 by the end of this year though.

The reason I call nowitzki a one tricky pony is that is he has decent jumper and thats it. Every other aspect of his game is just average. He does not create his own shot nor does he command a double team like any of the original players that were listed. He can be easily contained by having someone shadow him. He is a complimentary player who feeds off of Nash and Finley. If you stuck him on a team with little talent, he would not do as well. He reminds me of Toni Kukoc but without the rings.

Francis on the other hand does command a double team and can score no matter what team he was on.
