Did anyone think Horry wasn't going to make that shot

When Kobe passed the ball the Horry last night, there was no question in my mind he was going to make that shot. I don't think there was a question in Horry's mind he was going to make that shot. He is so clutch!!!!

I wish the Rockets were in a position where we could use his services meaning not needing him at all in the regular season and letting him hit clutch shots in the playoffs. Has there been anyone in the league that just turns it on in the playoffs like that.

I was watching this game with my brother last night. When Kobe passed Horry the ball, I immediately said, "Dagger." With that, Horry proceeded to calmly drill the clutch three as he has done throughout his career.

He may not be a productive player, but if you need someone to come through in the playoffs, he's your guy. Unfortunately this team is more than one Robert Horry away from being a contender again.

Yep, too bad he is a a lazy player during the regular season.

Horry would not be crap without some GREAT players getting him the ball at the proper time.

Horry has always been an underachiever, heck, we had to almost trade his butt to get him to shoot the ball.

He has been killing the Spurs for years, too. I know the Spurs fans must hate him. Remember Game 1 of the '95 Western Conf Finals? The Rockets were losing most of the game, then inside a 20 seconds left, and Horry nails a runner to give the Rockets their first lead, and we won the game.

DAGGER!

I'm happy to see Horry getting to do what he does best --- he's on a team that is good enough to let him coast most of the season, so he can turn it on and kill other teams in the playoffs.

You know where he'd REALLY fit in?

On the Nets. He'd be so good for them.

He's a perfect fit to the Lakers. Great move to get him way back, knowing they have two guys on the team already that demand the rock most of the time anyway, so all he has to do is use his frame to pass it in to Shaq and bury the three when they need it.
Greatly multiplies their D by having at least two fearsome interior defenders on the court.

I'd love to know his career FG% with less than one minute to play. It's got to be utterly unbelievable.

Too bad he and a prime-age Hakeem didn't have more years together. But he's on a playoff team, which is where he belongs.

on a side note...i lost all respect for horry when he pulled duncans hand and thus his arm down over his shoulder in what could have been a broken bone incident.

if you dont know what im talking about, it happened in game 4 i think. duncan went up for a block or rebound and horry grabbed his hand with duncans arm going across horry's shoulder and preceded to pull down trying to make it look like duncan was fouling him. duncan's palm was up and therefore he couldnt bend his arm down.

horry...for that play you are now an official PAMF...

The fresh prince plays defense, blocks shots, helps out on defense, stretches the other teams defense (Duncan is playing above the free throw line), rebounds, and scores occassionally when it counts.

The boy is straight up the symbol for clutch city down the stretch. I agree, the potential trade to Detroit woke him up, however, Rudy never gave up on him.

Red, how can you lose ALL respect for Horry over one play. Duncan has done similar things, however, they weren't caught on tape. Ease up!!

I bet the Spurs would trade Malik, David, or anyone else for Robert except Duncan.

when i see duncan make a play like that i will lose all respect for him. there are very few players i respect in the league.

if you flop...i have no respect for you
if you complain and whine to the refs without getting back on D...i have no respect for you
if you taunt and do jiggles and talk trash...i have no respect for you
if you try to injure someone and make it look like you were getting fouled...i have no respect for you

the game should be pure.

I don't think Horry did it on purpose. I think he did get fouled on that play and just got tangled up with Duncan. When he realized he had Duncan in a bad position, he let go.

Its not like Horry threw the ball at someones head or tried to take someone out on a fast break.

no... he gripped duncans hand after the play had been whistled dead and proceeded to pull his arm down...

if i was duncan i would have punched horry in the face...

I really like Horry too, but Red is correct about what happened. And since I've seen many Laker games, I will confirm that Horry is a dirty player. I don't think he intends to do real harm, but it's a lot like Malone and his elbows, and Stockton and his illegal screens, and Rodman with his occasional crotch blows. Horry is subtle, but he is still dirty. It's also smart defense. Grabbing here and there. Elbow to the midsection when the refs are turned. This has happened for a long long time. Horry is still clutch though.
