You haven't been noticing it all season? JVG's rotation is going to hurt us down the stretch (if it hasn't already). I'm not blaming anyone, but players can't play entire games, there's never enough fuel in the tank for 48 minutes.
yeah, i noticed. another reason jvg doesn't seem to understand game management. you need timeouts and sometimes your players actually have to go rest. oh, and it's ok to adjust your offense when it's sucking.
I noticed that AG only got 1 minute of playing time tonight. He is a veteran, a good defender, and relatively smart (compared to the rest of the Rockets). We need to play him more.
You're right. We could've saved a few timeouts and let the Spurs momentum carry them to a 18 point lead. Timeout's were called when they were needed. Hard to adjust your offense when your star player shoots 33%. Exactly what do you want him to do? He can't shoot for the players. Stop. Hating.
JVG is showcasing him. He was so stinkin mad at the end not just because SF missed the shot... but because his value would've been higher had the ESPN highlight been a positive one, and then a win in OT after SF would've played over 53 mins proving his stamina as well. Just a thought. Not a hope. Every move is a suspect move these days. I'll actually be shocked if SF stays past the deadline.
Like I said, "Every move is a suspect move these days. I'll actually be shocked if SF stays past the deadline."
SF played so many minutes because hes JVG's man.. other than the missed shots and the bad decision at the end he executed JVG's game plan. He passed the ball around he was directing his teammates.. I dont have that much to say. J
how is it a suspect move to leave your team leader in the whole game in a very important game? thats fine you believe he was showcasing him but the bit about van gundy being mad francis missed the shot because it would increase his value and it would have allowed him to play more minutes is just silly. further...isnt it kind of hard to showcase a guy who is already showcased every single night?
Steve is not going anywhere during the season because of his BYC status, and lets hope that he somehow gets it by the end of the season. It's difficult to trade a max player, very difficult under the current CBA.
you're kidding right? if this were a one-time instance, i could give him a pass, but we've been out of timeouts at the end of games on numerous occasions this year. this has to be like the 6th or 7th time now. eventually, you just have to realize jvg overuses his timeouts and that's that. b/t having a timeout with 15 seconds left and needing a really good play drawn up or calling one in the 2nd quarter b/c the spurs hit back to back baskets, i'll take the former. you can't have zero timeouts, not even a 20, left at the end of a close game. it's inexcusable. if we're going to say what steve did at the end was inexcusable, then there's no way that the thing that led to it wasn't either. jvg uses his timeouts too fast, it's been proven over and over. hating would be if i said jvg is a moron when it comes to offense and was only saved when the team broke out of his scheme in atlanta and was almost saved b/c the team did it again tonight. of course, charles barkley said that as well.
The BYC status can be overcome (actually more than overcome) with the trade exception. If the right deal materializes, there is nothing to prevent the Rockets from taking it.
It's amazing. I'm siding with oh, say about 46% of folks that say SF should be gone... Not because I want him gone, but because I think JVG is searching to ship him. And it's my opinion. But I think it is very suspect considering the love JVG has for Mark Jackson. He could have given SF a breather.. even early, if not late. I understand he's the "best" and he's "JVG's guy" and they say there is no "real problem" between them or whatever. BUt JVG knows how to make it look good. And if he did want to trade him mid-season, in spite of the current CBA and this being the BYC... He'd be the guy to sell it. You saying that it's not possible? I disagree. It's possible. Not probable? Probably won't happen. I'll agree to that. I'll still be surprised if he's here after the deadline... You don't wear out your "star" either in a big game.. fresher legs woulda hit that shot, and more shots... that's just an odd move IMHO. And in light of recent "don't worry about us" spats in the papers, would you really be suprised if JVG pulled the trigger on getting a player he could possibly handle more? I wouldn't be surprised, that's all I'm saying. I'd be more surprised (and relieved) if SF's still here for the duration this season. Like I say, "I hope not."
what makes more sense? blowing our TE on steve just to get back equal talent just because we really want him gone or, if we're going to move him, trading him in the summer for equal talent and then using the TE to trade someone else for talent superior to the person we trade. in one situation, you upgrade talent. in the other, you don't thanks to BYC.
who the hell is an equal talent to francis that is a pass first type player that is availible? i can think of absolutely no one.
Rockets might be stuck with Stevie for a long.....time. If he keeps playing like this, which is of very high probability, the only player we can get for him is Shareef and Theo from Portland when their contract are about to expire in 5 yrs. Damn it.
